Elon Musk's New Cutting Edge Tesla Motor

What an exciting future is in store for electric vehicles. There is zero comparison in acceleration between an EV and a gas engine, and top speed performance can easily be part of any EV package.
They have tried to make EV dragsters based on your fashion of believing. But to date, the fastest of all dragsters uses liquid fuels and not batteries. Also the fastest use the ICE.

All part of the Infrastructure Bill to put recharging stations so many mile apart on all interstate highways. Gonna take some time for them to get online, of course, also worth noting that most recharging takes place at night, when demand is lowest on the grid.
Take a long hard look at the CA very high speed rail project. This so far has taken decades and yet the system is not operational.

Completion date
When will the high speed rail in California be finished?
Construction time
How long will the California high speed rail take to build?
The passage of Proposition 1A in 2008, followed by the awarding of federal stimulus funds in 2010, established the initial funding for the California High-Speed Rail system. Construction contracts began to be awarded in 2013, and the groundbreaking ceremony for initial construction was held on January 6, 2015.

I post this link to CA to partly show how the system is not one bit transparent. To get any data, one has to leap like a trapeze artist all over the place for simple answers.

The charging stations are useless if there is not enough power on the grid to support them. It’s like building a strip mall but no tenants to rent the space. Having a generator running to charge an electric car that causes more pollution than a gas powered car is a net loss for the environment.
In CA at the new Tesla, Harris Ranch supercharger station there are 98 charging bays. You can charge your Tesla up to 80% in 20 minutes. However that takes a LOT of power. For now, however, until it all can be hooked to the grid, diesel generators are needed.

Hurray for causing more pollution to act like you’re saving the environment

How many of us will have one in the next 10 years?

In 10 years electric cars will be prevalent as the reduced demand for gasoline will cause oil companies to increase gas prices. Oil companies aren't about to stay profitable selling ever decreasing amounts of fuel unless they charge ever increasing prices.

I have long believed that the oil companies by this time have perfected the manufacture of oil.
