how does all of the underground water get to the surface enough to cause a world wide flood?

Only known global food was over a billion years ago, the great deluge it's called. The Biblical Flood if an actual event was likely limited to the Mediterranean area, the "world" at that time.

I read several articles about it this morning - yes, very interesting but its science. Doesn't belong in the superstition forum.

1) We would need a supersition forum before anything could belong there.
2) You don't demand global warming threads end up in a supersition forum.

I am more concerned about the possible surface invasion of the Ringwoodians!!!

what about the molten lava ... ???

- that much water would either put it out or blow up the planet turning into steam ....

If anyone bothered to read the article, the water isn't liquid, so no flood is possible with this "water". Better luck next time, Noah. :D

If you really think it's difficult to change water from it's different states to a liquid, you need to take a basic cooking course.

To learn how to get water encased in rocks deep underground to the surface to flood the earth for 40 days, then go back deep in the mantle? Wow, that must be some cooking course!

The Earth is probably 3/5ths or 3/4ths water.

This blue color is caused by reflection from the oceans which cover roughly 71% of the area of the Earth.

The total volume of water on Earth is estimated at 1.386 billion km³ (333 million cubic miles), with 97.5% being salt water and 2.5% being fresh water. Of the fresh water, only 0.3% is in liquid form on the surface.[3][4] In addition, the lower mantle of inner earth may hold as much as 5 times more water than all surface water combined (all oceans, all lakes, all rivers).[5]
