So it would appear Ron DeSantis was not the first to come up with "monkey up", although he may well think he is since he'd have to be familiar with Homeyer's work from 2003, and after all ----- who doesn't have that book on one's coffee table.

So apparently every fifteen years it's possible for a Malaprop phrase to pop up. Gee Wally, that sure makes it a common expression, gosh whiz.
