Don't forget we are still at war

What was this fellow's purpose in exposing himself that way?

Also, what machine guns? All I heard was semi-auto fire and a couple of 3-round bursts

In charge of what? A suicide mission? So I repeat my question, why was this fellow exposing himself that way? What he did essentially is put himself out of service and create a burden. What was the purpose of his John Wayne performance?

I should tell you I was in the Corps, probably before you were born, and the title of your topic suggests your MOS is (was) 0100, because you obviously don't know the difference between the sound of a "machine gun duel" and an exchange of semi-auto fire.

Further, how did that bit of live action come to be videotaped? Are helmet cams presently in use by line companies? If so, is there a source where the videos are available for public view? If not, how did this one qualify for release?

Semper Fi.
