Donald Trump threatens to squat on Puerto Rico. You are on your own.

With 80% of Puerto Rico still without power, Trump says FEMA can't stay 'forever'

Donald Trump: We cannot aid Puerto Rico 'forever' - CNNPolitics

The press is just making stuff up. Puerto Rico is fine. Who is without what? If half the country didn't have food or water, they would be dying.

Trump's tweets:

"Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making." says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of.....

...accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes. Congress to decide how much to spend....

...We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!

I can't make this stuff up. Republicans are some mean and dirty people. What can you expect from people who believe in "let them die" as an actual healthcare policy?

FEMA has power lineman and construction workers?

Ya know I thought that was a good question so I went to look for info on it.

stumbled onto this: "
In December 2011, FEMA initiated a bottom-up review (BUR) of the Pre-positioned Equipment Program to assess the validity of the program based on capital investments versus deployments of the Pre-positioned Equipment Program caches. The BUR analysis of the historical data indicates that the pre-positioned equipment resources have not been utilized since 2005 for disaster response and the return on investment has not been realized. Based on the BUR analysis, FEMA proposes to fully eliminate the Pre-Positioned Equipment Programin FY 2013." - (Page 59) https://www.fema.gov/pdf/about/budget/11a_fema_salaries_expenses_dhs_fy13_cj.pdf

----

Anyway, I didn't find specifics on linemen & construction worker positions and most of the stuff FEMA does seems to be outside that kind of scope, but /if/ they do have them, they'd be under "regional" hire (aka they'd work for Puerto Rico government division)

Regardless of statistics, the people outside of the big cities don't have food, water, medicine or power. They are getting sick. They are dying. That's the reality. And as power and cell service is restored, we are going to know exactly what went on and what is going on. I don't have a good feeling.

I don't think it's the President's fault, I think it's regional FEMA and corrupt mayors personally. Though I'm not discounting that some of the plebs might be just saying that because they didn't get what they wanted when they wanted it. Socialists, in general, tend to be self centered, greedy, and envious so it wouldn't surprise me if they were kind of making it up. I hope the lawyer chick sorts that out one way or another.

... okay plebs maybe isn't a proper term in PC land... The folks who are not in charge of distribution is what I mean.

UGH okay let me try that again: so like when you feed a sled dog team, the dogs at the back of the lot get into a frenzied panic; like you're going to run out before they get theirs - so they scream and carry on extra loud. It's the same kind of thing as when we have stampedes at Black Friday sales...

People aren't counting the dead because they are looking for something to eat and a little clean water.

Then those people are IDIOTS because the first thing you do after an natural disaster is dispose of the bodies before they start to stink. That should have happened LONG before people ran out of the water and food that they'd stockpiled in the event of a hurricane! Oh wait...you mean they DIDN'T stockpile food and water even though hurricanes are commonplace in that part of the world? Who would be THAT stupid, R-Derp? Let me guess...you've got relatives living in Puerto Rico?
