Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit stayed a controversial ruling by a Florida district court judge that had effectively blocked the Justice Department and national security agencies from reviewing highly classified documents seized by the FBI at former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.

Lol "we didn't destroy the judicial branch for nothing"
Actually, “we” didn’t destroy it at all. Largely thanks to Trump, our high court is back in the business of interpreting laws on the basis of whether they violate the Constitution. That’s not destruction. That’s repairing.

Trump was blackmailed into his SC nominations by the Federalist Society, a purely ideological partisan group. The court's credibility rating among Americans has never been lower, at least in my lifetime. It's a purely political entity that doesn't give a damn about the Constitution.

You appear to be bleating some Daily Kos crap you’ve been instructed to believe. Poor poor pitiful you. The court isn’t a bastion of lawless liberalism under a paper thin guise of being “judicial” anymore.

All 3 of his nominees from the Federalist Society. To buy their endorsement. Everything and anything is for sale at all times in the MAGA world.

It looks like Eileen Cannon got handed a smack down by the 11th circuit, showing what a partisan nut job she has been.

Holding back these documents by Cannon was so obviously political. She has violated her oath.

DOJ can continue investigation into some docs taken from Mar-a-Lago: Appeals court

"A panel of judges on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has granted a request from the Justice Department to stay portions of a ruling by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon that had effectively paused the government's investigation into former President Donald Trump's potential mishandling of classified records after leaving office.

"The three-judge panel, comprised of two Trump appointees and a Barack Obama appointee, ruled unanimously on Wednesday that the Justice Department is no longer enjoined from investigating the documents with classification markings that were recovered from Mar-a-Lago and will no longer have to submit those materials to special master Ray Dearie for his review.

"[Trump] has not even attempted to show that he has a need to know the information contained in the classified documents," the panel wrote in its ruling. "Nor has he established that the current administration has waived that requirement for these documents."

"The judges also agreed with the Justice Department that Trump has submitted no record or claim that he ever declassified the documents at issue -- which undercut Trump's statements on social media otherwise. His team resisted stating as much when pressed by Dearie during a separate hearing on Tuesday...

...In any event, at least for these purposes, the declassification argument is a red herring because declassifying an official document would not change its content or render it personal," the judges wrote. "So even if we assumed that Plaintiff did declassify some or all of the documents, that would not explain why he has a personal interest in them.

"Department is no longer enjoined from investigating the documents with classification markings that were recovered from Mar-a-Lago and will no longer have to submit those materials to special master Ray Dearie for his review."!!!

STRIKE TWO.

They made terrific recommendations. Good. Nobody but assholes like you (who are hostile to facts and evidence) claim that anything was “for sale.”

What's the FBI afraid of? If they didn't violate any laws, they should welcome a special master.
