Do the Yankees really have shot?

Is baseball worth a damn without the Yanks in the World Series?

The best thing about baseball is when a small market team wins the World Series.

The Yankees have the highest payroll in baseball. Too bad their pitching has stunk all year, and now they suddenly can't hit the ball. :clap2::lol:

N.Y. Yankees 3, Baltimore 2 (12): Raul Ibanez pinch-hits for A-Rod, homers twice

Raul Ibanez lined a tying home run while pinch hitting for slumping Alex Rodriguez in the ninth inning, then hit a leadoff homer in the 12th, ...

They lost Pettitte for much of the year to injury. They lost the best saver in the history of the Majors for the entire fucking season.

So, their pitching still hung together pretty well (especially good enough for a team that has such power at the plate).

And perhaps last night might convince you that they CAN hit the ball.

I got to handed it to him- Joe Girardi has some set of balls.

Yanks just beat the Birds......3 to 1!

Tigers tomorrow!

WTF!?!?! The Oriole dude hit a homerun off the poll. The umps watch the replay of it and they say foul. RIGGED!

The ball clearly missed the pole.

It hardly matters now.

With the Captain out, given the anemic power at the plate in the playoffs by a couple or 4 of the Yankees main power core, this now looks to be a VERY tough series.

It clearly hit the poll. You can watch the angle where it clearly shows the ball changing trajectory after hitting it. The Yankee stadium attendant already testified that it hit the poll.

Also, even the umps didnt say it didn't hit the poll. They were just weenies who said there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call.

BTW, there's outfield umps, no excuse to miss that call in the first place.

No. It didn't hit the pole. That certainly wasn't "clear." There was NO change of trajectory. There was also no mark on the ball.

They didn't miss the call. They got it right and then confirmed it.
