Adaptation is due to temperature too. Blacks evolved in hot regions where they didn't to need to wear clothes to stay warm as those who migrated into cooler regions did. If you're always covered in warm clothing, you have an artificial UV resistance and are going to lose the natural one as with darker skin.

Can see this yourself with your feet and shins which usually have little or no hair because we usually wear shoes and socks.

Blacks evolved in intense UV regions like Africa. Their skin reflects the adaptation by darkening and providing greater resistance. Those will lighter skin evolve din less UV-intense regions further north and south and lost this adaptation over time.

Humans evolved in Africa. Whites are the product of a genetic mutation that occurred in India and spread to europe.
