Republicans are convinced that anyone who says they are republicans are fiscally conservative. Also big business benefitted so much under Obama, yet call him anti-business. Geez, you just can't with these people.

Republicans have yet to ever embrace fiscal conservancy. Doesn't mean that they can't, just that they have always loathed fiscal conservancy.

Did a real Londoner start this thread? Isn't the UK going down in financial flames right now? Aren't we fast on our way to going down in flames because our president is trying to follow the european lead? It isn't a matter of debt, it's a matter of bringing in more than is going out. You can live that way for a while, but when you start using one credit card to pay for other credit cards, sooner or later you are going to run out of credit cards...just ask Ireland. Yes, Bush 43 was a big deficit spender...which is also the reason he soooo demoralized the conservatives that he damn near destroyed a political party...We are going to take it back though and not sit on our ass this time when a progressive RINO dicides to pander to the liberals...Just remember Mike Castle and Charlie Crist and Bennet and damn near Murkowski

The idea that the GOP has anything to do fiscal conservatism is a joke. I have been voting Libertarian since 1980 because the GOP has had a straight lemon socialist agenda all of my life. Although muted under DDE those are the facts

Nixon partially socialized rail service and created Amtrak.
Ford partially socialized the Auto industry with Chrysler.
Reagan partially socialized banking with Continental Illinois.
Bush the elder through the RTC socialized a Nevada brothel among other things.

It is defensible to claim that Dems can't pour urine out of a boot, many Democratic voters can and do agree with you. However claiming that you vote for the GOP because it is fiscally conservative is as has been pointed out by many posters both idiotic and ignorant. Come on the GOP record as opposing a nanny state may be better than the record of the Ds but not by much and does not involve anything that can be remotely seen as fiscally conservative.
