When children are 4 years old, they are more equal in that they are clueless, but once they become 5 years old, and they are exposed to kindergarten, then they come home wowing us in what they are learning, and have been learning. Yes there are going to be kids that are a tad bit slower at learning than others, but a good teacher will have them all up to speed before they are through. The immigrants are definitely going to have the hardest time adapting, but in most cases of labor they don't have to adapt. The ones that do want to, and find that they are quite well in adapting, then they are also good at assimilating if that's what they want to do.
