Discussion to replace Ryan as SOH intensifies in white house, congress

You do understand that the President doesn't have the power to "replace" the Speaker, right?

You, the President, and all of his other sycophants needed to brush up on elementary school civics.

This is reality america, no one cares if it's real or not, it's a good show.

What the president wants the president gets. SOH serves at the pleasure of the President..as Ryan himself has said.

The article doesn't imply the President has the power...neither did the OP

You have that backwards.... Congress makes laws the president executes them... It is the president that serves at the Peoples pleasure and our representatives are in the house. Perhaps you should look in to a civics class.

If the president wants the SOH to resign he will.

This is all Trump trying to escape his own part in this failure.... this is what he does. He is a worm that blames others instead of owning up to his own failures. Sure Ryan failed but Donald Trump not only pushed for this crappy Obama care light bill but THREATENED to primary any who dared go against him in this .... He is just as culpable.

Dear theDoctorisIn
Obama wasn't supposed to dictate policy from the Presidency either.
But McCain even stated that since he got elected, he can do what he wants and run the show unopposed. WTF? is right!

Roberts was not supposed to "reinterpret" or change legislation from the Bench.

But we all saw what happened, after Roberts had ALREADY WRITTEN OUT
an opinion STRIKING DOWN ACA, he suddenly changed it to try to accommodate instead of appearing partisan? WTFFFF X a zillion.

Anything goes.
Nobody is following the rules of the road,
but driving wherever they can get away with....

What happened to the Conservatives and Libertarians?
The only person yelling in the media is Trump who is secular populist.
He's not even a Constitutionalist and he's yelling louder than Cruz.

The Tea Party drove out John Boehner, and considered it a victory when he resigned. Then no one would take the job for the longest time, and Paul Ryan was convinced to take over for Mr. Boehner. Now, less than a year later, you want Paul Ryan fired. It's not like the White House is running smoothly and all of the jobs over there have been filled so they can deal with the problems that not having a Speaker of the House would create.

Yeah, go for it. This just gets better and better. Next the stress will get to Trump and he'll have a health crisis.

Indeed. I believe in absolute rule. My dream is to become a dictator.

Dear thanatos144 and Odium
Where I would agree with Odium is that the President like any other citizen
can put PUBLIC PRESSURE on ANYONE in office to resign for NOT DOING THEIR JOBS.

Not because Trump is President
but because he is a loudmouth and will yell in public.
All of us can do that.
He is a populist and is doing the yelling in and at the media
for others at the same time.

Anyone can pressure anyone to resign.

The Constitution when followed consistently checks against that.

You SAY you want a strong armed dictatorship type, Odium
but if that is abused to dictate AGAINST YOUR beliefs and consent,
suddenly it's not what you want! What do you think OBAMA did wrong?

Pushed MANDATES and orders half the nation contested as unconstitutional.
The Presidency is NOT a dictatorship.

What we all want is our CONSENT and INTERESTS/BELIEFS respected.

Whether by a dictator or a collective voting group,
we DON'T want taxation without representation.

We want public policies to reflect what we believe and support by free choice.
You may think it takes a dictator to do that.
Be careful what you ask for, when the dictator starts dictating against your beliefs....

Can you provide any "credible" proof that Trump has the legal constitutional authority to remove Speaker Ryan?
