Several months ago, I cheered as South African double-amputee, Oscar Pistorius, became inspiration to the World during the 2012 Olympic games. Then months later, Oscar Pistorius kills live-in girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, alleging he thought Reeva was an intruder.

Oscar's defense is so outrageous I am wonderinig if we are dealing with an almost hopeless man made callous by fame, or a rejected lover, or an outright cold-blooded murderer. What are your speculations on the Reeva Steenkamp case?

Oscar Pistorius Charged With Death Of Reeva Steenkamp - Oscar Pistorius weeps as South African court hears riveting testimony | World news | The Guardian

1). If you are that afraid, why would you go to bed with your sliding door unlocked? or with a ladder underneath your barless unsecure window?

2). Why would you assume there is an intruder in your bathroom without first checking on your partner in bed?

3). How does a man on all fours suppose to confront a possibly armed intruder in the house?

4). Why would you assume an intruder in your bathroom would not emerge suddenly to attack you while you are putting on your prosthetic legs?

So many questions to answer, Oscar Pistorius. Wish you had thought like an ordinary human would. Or is Oscar Pistorius human?

This isn't a criminal case. It's a movie of the week. The prosecutor is alleged to have seven corpses of his own. Pistorious' brother is an alleged murderer. And the girl's death is looking more and more like roid rage.

So much for gun control working in South Africa.

I hear you: Roid Rage. It has never seized to amaze me how some people who are obviously enjoying a favor wave would risk everything just to feed their ego.

Granny says tell him he has to leave his bionic legs at home so he can't run off...

Pistorius allowed to leave SAfrica with conditions
Mar 28,`13 -- Oscar Pistorius could compete at this year's world championships after a South African judge eased his bail restrictions and ruled Thursday that the athlete, who faces a murder trial for the shooting death of his girlfriend, can travel overseas to run.
The international athletics body said that if Pistorius qualifies, it had no objections to him running - an event that could eclipse the stir last year when he became the first double amputee to compete at the Olympics. Pistorius' agent told The Associated Press soon after the ruling that the world championships in Moscow in August could be a possibility if the runner wanted to return to the track on his carbon fiber blades. Judge Bert Bam upheld the Olympic athlete's appeal against some of his bail restrictions, but said the 26-year-old Pistorius must travel under certain conditions. The athlete could face a life sentence if found guilty of murder for the Valentine's Day shooting death of Reeva Steenkamp.

His passport will be held by a court while he is in South Africa, and he can only leave the country if he provides an itinerary of his travel plans at least a week before he is due to leave. Pistorius must also hand his travel documents back to the court within 24 hours of returning home, Bam ruled. "Based on this (the judge's decision), and if he is up for it and qualifies, the world championships will definitely be on the radar," Pistorius' agent, Peet van Zyl, told the AP by telephone. The judge's decision was "fair," Van Zyl said, but any return to track would be up to Pistorius, who hasn't run competitively since September and hasn't trained for two months. The worlds are in August, while Pistorius' next court appearance is June 4. "It's his call. He's the one under all the pressure for the court case and grieving for Reeva," the agent said.

Although Pistorius' lawyers said in the appeal hearing that he had no immediate plans to compete, he would likely need to return to track in the future to earn money, they said. Pistorius, widely known as the Blade Runner for his prosthetic legs, did not attend the court session. "He has no desire to compete now but it might change and it will change," defense lawyer Barry Roux told the judge in arguing for Pistorius' travel restrictions to be eased. Roux said Pistorius would not try and evade trial if he is allowed to travel internationally, and would eventually need to run again "to earn an income." "He is not going to run away and hide. He is going nowhere," Roux told the judge in the brown-walled courtroom in the high court, where television cameras and photographers were allowed in to record the proceedings. "Why stop him from traveling under controlled circumstances?" Roux added.

S. Africa Police Conclude Pistorius Probe
August 13, 2013 — South African police have completed their murder investigation into global track and field star Oscar Pistorius, who will appear in court next week to receive detailed charges for the Valentine's Day shooting of his girlfriend.
The double-amputee, known as “Blade Runner” for the prostheses he wears in competition, is due in court on Aug. 19 for a hearing that will likely be brief and procedural. He was released on bail in February after being charged with murder. Police said on Tuesday they had used forensic experts, ballistics experts, psychologists and technology experts to investigate the Feb. 14 death of Reeva Steenkamp, who was shot by Pistorius through a closed bathroom door at his upmarket Pretoria home. “It is expected that he will be served with an indictment and that the matter will be postponed. The prosecution, in collaboration with the defense team, will agree on a trial date,” police said in a statement.

In the South African legal system, an indictment is a more detailed charge sheet that is used to move a case from a lower court to a high court. Pistorius, 26, has admitted to firing four shots at Steenkamp, 29, hitting her in the head, arm and hip. South African police stumbled in their initial investigation and were forced to replace their lead detective when it emerged he was facing attempted murder charges for shooting at a minibus. The new investigator, appointed in late February, has handled some of the country's highest-profile cases. In pre-trial testimony, Pistorius's lawyers told a magistrates' court the shooting had been a tragic mistake and the athlete was acting in self-defense against what he thought was an intruder.

Prosecutors accused him of premeditated murder for killing Steenkamp, a noted model and budding reality TV star. Pistorius was one of the most celebrated athletes of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in London, making the Olympic 400m semifinal and winning Paralympic gold over the same distance. His arrest and subsequent murder charge a few months later shocked millions around the world. In South Africa, his triumph over adversity made him a hero for both blacks and whites, transcending the racial divides that persist 19 years after the end of apartheid. Pistorius has mostly kept out of the public eye since he secured bail. He has had one court appearance, in June, which lasted about 10 minutes.
