Yes. It is too early. That young woman is barely down to room temperature. This whole damn day has been hideous in our history. I'd wait, Candy.

Not too early to start talking about the political upside. I wonder where the board is on the path forward. Keep in mind the senate also is in Dem hands. I know that made it much easier. But I'm more curious about the opposition.

There was no planned insurrection attempt, the President never told the people to forcefully enter the Capital building, in fact he told them to stop the violence.

It was a rally/protest that showed a few people got out of hand, but most of the crows remained peaceful the entire time.

I'm sure the crows were peaceful. The mob? Broke windows, vandalized buildings, interrupted the work of Congress. In this case, they tried to stop the duly elected President from being confirmed.

The mob was less than .05% of the crowd.

There is no way in hell will they be able to stop Biden from being confirmed as President elect after this show and pony ends.

Funny, Dems cheered illegal protesters during Bret Kavanaugh hearings in the Captiol.

I missed the part where they forced the hearings to stop and the business of the government to come to a screeching halt. Perhaps it did happen....

I hope that maybe the Republicans will realize that Trump was the result of 50 years of bad behavior, and that the damage he's done hurts everyone.

Trump, and to a lesser degree, Bernie, were the result of average Americans embracing radicalism because conventional politics doesn't achieve meaningful change.

I don't put much in the thought that the Senate is in D hands. That just means that the Senate majority is held hostage to it's most centrist member. We saw the same thing in 2000 - 2004 when the GOP held a razor thin margin in the senate and guys like McCain and Jeffords could stir up all manner of trouble.

I also think that establishment Repubican "Mitlaufers" who knew Trump was nuts but went along with him to get judicial appointments are now going to have to fight with the true believers who want to control the soul of the party. Should be interesting how that plays out.

The idiots were escorted out of the chamber, but they disrupted a legal senate meeting which is why it is relevant. Kavanaugh to this day has never been shown to be a physical threat to women, thus their protests based on unfounded allegation by Ford was a waste of time.

Thre was no way before they did this, so why do it at all?

Our Republic is based on the peaceful transition of power. Trump just launched a frontal assault on that institution.

Nothing good can come of this.

I think it will be somewhat easier, which isn't necessarily good for U.S democracy that relies on some debate and fight for constituents policies.

Without question, with Trump losing, the most difficult job will be your intel agencies. FBI, CIA, NSA all have a hell of a task on their hands. China has the Eye of the Tiger and U.S citizens feel extremely separated from their politicians and their interests.

With patriotism waning and criticism from the left and media at an all time high against anything constitution supporting, conservative or libertarian, it's going to be easy for foreign powers to work on the inside.
