The candidates vying to be the next leader of the Democratic National Committee agree on one thing: The party needs a major overhaul.

Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez described the organization as a “fixer-upper.” Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) said it needs a new culture “designed to win elections.” South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg said Democrats risk being “tuned out.”

Whoever wins the top job will find the task awaiting them is massive. The party has no power in Washington, controls only a third of the governor’s mansions and has 900 fewer state lawmakers than it did when President Obama took office in 2009.

After a bruising defeat, Democrats are hunting for a new leader
Obama hand picked the last DNC Chair, disgraced Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Had Hillary won, she would have chosen the next Chairperson. Luckily for the Liberal wing of the DNC, Hillary lost, and now they get the opportunity to participate in electing the new head of the DNC.

Obama is backing Establishment candidate Perez, Sanders is backing outsider Ellison...and there are a slew of other hats in the ring in between.

So, who are you backing and why?

Nobody's paying attention?

Rep. Keith Ellison seemed to be on cruise control in his campaign to be the next head of the Democratic National Committee. The Minnesota Democrat had won endorsements from Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer for the job and had emerged as the liberal favorite in a party that has become increasingly controlled by its progressive wing in recent years.

Then last week his past came back to haunt him.

Ellison has a long history of controversial remarks, many of which he has disavowed. Like the time he compared George W. Bush to Hitler. Or his defense of the Nation of Islam. Or his characterization of his 2012 opponent as a “lowlife scumbag.”

Keith Ellison’s coronation as DNC Chair is over
Looks like the Establishment is trying the same smear campaign as they are using on Trump.

Next they'll accuse the Russians of interfering in the DNC Chairperson Election...

Isn't Ellison a muslim? Doesn't muslims oppress queers and women? That's a pretty odd choice to me but then again leftards are all about the big tent of diversity even if they contradict themselves at every turn.....

Last I heard, Chucky Shmucky was backing Ellison. A Jew backing a radical Muslim who is a friend of Farrakhan, go figure! I WAS a Democrat until 1980............I then voted for Clinton in his 2nd spin, but switched to GW in 2000 because Gore was a joke!. (the biggest threat to mankind is the internal combustion engine, yep, that was Al)

The Dems are no longer recognizable, they are far, far, faaaaaaaar left. Their power comes from their cobbling together divergent radical elements, and fostering division today. Blue collar people are leaving them in droves as the Dems have decided to throw them under the bus for another group, the greenies and Hollywood.

If anyone wonders how in the hell the Dems get away with the phony narratives that they do, remember---------->they have the best story tellers in their camp known as Hollyweird.

And so, who should the Democrats back? A Democrat to be named later who is a moderate. We need a strong Democratic party for balance in America, but the way they are now, we can't let them back anywhere near the levers of power!

As for the President picking the Chair - it doesn't work that way. The Chair is elected by the committee members as a whole, the President has nothing to do with the process.
