Democrats Ran Russian Bot ā€˜False Flagā€™ Operation In Alabama ā€” And Media Fell For It

"Democratic operatives created thousands of Twitter accounts posing as Russian bots in order to boost Alabama Democratic Sen. Doug Jones in the October 2017 special election by linking his Republican opponent, Roy Moore, to Russian influence campaigns.

The operatives, who were funded by liberal billionaire Reid Hoffman independently of Jonesā€™s campaign, created more than a thousand Russian-language accounts that followed Mooreā€™s Twitter account overnight.

Hoffman gave the operatives $100,000 for their project, which included creating fake conservative Facebook accounts to dissuade voters from supporting Moore.

ā€œWe orchestrated an elaborate ā€˜false flagā€™ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet,ā€ the operatives recounted in an internal report."

Is there nothing Democrats will not do to win elections / gain power?

The more and more you learn about Democrats the more you realize how despicable and corrupt they are...

Rest assured the Democrats are working on numerous layers of internet scams and voter fraud schemes to attempt to help their candidate win in 2020.

And we all know the Daily Caller has never made shit up. right?

What were some of the Twitter handles of the supposed created Russian bots? Just a few please. It's pretty easy to trace it back to the origin.

And we all know the Daily Caller has never made shit up. right?

This one is especially dubious. The allegation is that someone outside of the Jones campaign created a program to create Russian Bots. Now the Russian Bots didn't do anything other than "follow" Roy Moore to make it look like Roy Moore had ties to Russia. And somehow they did this on Facebook as well.

Yeah...as if someone is sitting there looking at Roy Moore's Twitter or Facebook followers (which rarely if ever happens--do you know who follows a public figure you're following outside of possibly your family?) and then decides, "Well, there are a lot of Russians following Moore; I don't think I'll vote for him."

Common sense would rate this as incredibly false in a number of dimensions. Chief among these is the round figure of "100,000 dollars." If he did do this, he drastically overpaid by about $80k for a very effective campaign (bots go for under $100) and the effect would be less than minimal.

It was one facebook page. And no, they didn't create 'thousands of twitter accounts posing as Russian bots'.

The projectā€™s operators created a Facebook page on which they posed as conservative Alabamians, using it to try to divide Republicans and even to endorse a write-in candidate to draw votes from Mr. Moore. It involved a scheme to link the Moore campaign to thousands of Russian accounts that suddenly began following the Republican candidate on Twitter, a development that drew national media attention.

Secret Experiment in Alabama Senate Race Imitated Russian Tactics

There's the original article stripped of misrepresentations and partisan panty shitting hysterics.

That's where the story falls apart....the Russian Bots. The allegation that the 'democratic operatives' created them is factually baseless. The NY Times article that is the source for the Daily Caller article....never says this.

Instead, it was ONE facebook page.

Since when does common sense factor into anything Democrats / snowflakes do?

After all, in 2016 they voted for a candidate who could not win her party's nomination (had to be given to her) and who the Director of the FBI described as too stupid to know she was committing crimes.

:p

We all know you always complain about sources but can never debunk the stories / facts...

I've already addressed the facts in the case. The source article cited by the Daily Caller......makes no mention of 'democratic operatives' creating 'thousands of twitter accounts'.

Instead, it speaks of ONE facebook page.

Just one.

You either didn't read the source article, or you did and were happy to misrepresent it. Either way......you are a predictably unreliable source of information.

So you admit Democrats posed as Russians/ engaged in unethical campaign tactics....

Such a dumb response. Ask hannity for new material.

Nope...just stated a fact.

Nope. Read the source article, Easy.

Secret Experiment in Alabama Senate Race Imitated Russian Tactics

They created one facebook page...and experimented to see if they could popularize the idea that the Moore Campaign was followed by Russian bots.

Which of course you knew. But intentionally misrepresented.

Sigh....again.

So you admit Democrats posed as Russians/ engaged in unethical campaign tactics....

I usually don't do this, but since you are so desperately grabbing at straws, I'll help you out this time

And she still got 3M more votes than the blob. :eusa_angel:

So, again, you admit Democrats posed as Russians/ engaged in unethical campaign tactics....

Thank you. That is all. You may step down now. :p
