Ahh music to my ears !

Fundraising shortfall or right on track? That's the question raised by a Bloomberg story reporting that the Democratic Party is $27 million behind its funding goal to underwrite September's National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. Apparently, this budget deficit may have prompted Democrats to cancel a convention kick-off event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and relocate it to the main business district, the Bloomberg article implies.
Bloomberg cites "two people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity to discuss internal party politics" as the sources claiming there's a funding shortfall. But Steve Kerrigan, chief executive officer of the convention committee, flatly denied any budgetary problems. "We are right on track with fundraising," he said in a phone call with the National Journal. "I don't know where they are getting their numbers from."

At Denver's 2008 convention, corporate sponsorships amounted to more than $33 million of that year's fundraising goal. But this year

They will be in a crisis by the time of the convention.

Here's another similar but unrelated item:
The winner of the “Have dinner with Barrack” contest was disqualified because he is an Obama campaign staffer. What are the odds? He says it’s because he clicks on it every chance he get to see if it’s working.

What this suggests to me is they aren't getting too many clickers on that raffle.

(I should've said that I just heard it on Fox News, and Special Report with Brett Baier )

What's amazing is that they've been screwing people for so long and they are shocked at the difficulty they are having raising money. Who would have thought it?

I heard Obama is having a recreation of the temple of Apollo at Delphi constructed for his nomination acceptance speech...

There was always a risk if boos at the CMS, and all work there is non onion employees. Also, Bruton Smith owns Charlotte Motor Speedway and he demanded a check. Given the non-existant fundraising by Debbie Wah Wah and the crowd at the DNC, the DNC couldn’t write one.

Seating capacity at CMS is 140,000, the One didn’t want to give Sean Hannity the pleasure of showing the empty seats on Fox or Madcow calling the DNC to complain of having to spin the empty seating.

There appears to be a gross amount of failed planning and logistics.

Hmmm maybe I'm too skeptical I read and just heard another interview about Obama's campaign finances. Lol es no gud .....I thought it was a tactic- playing the underdog, bit he will have half as much as Mitt the last two months they say. I still don't think anyone that's a Democrat wants to be at a track.

Republicans are convinced they are doing so well because they have the support of corporations and billionaires. People who want to dirty their air and water, stick them with the bill and then change the law so they can't "sue".

Good Job Brownie!

dean I want dirty air and water, absolutely, you're a liberal zealot and a moron. Go bow to your poster of Obama, shirtless of course!

We know. Finally, for once, honesty from you. Thought it would never happen.

Dems needed an FDR or LBJ - someone who can play hardball. As it stands, Obama couldn't even get his own party to vote for his most important policies. The Blue Dogs forced him to bend every piece of legislation. His stimulus turned out to be loaded with tax cuts for the wealthy, whose consumption isn't changed when they get more money.

The Left should have went to school on Clinton. Slick Willy balanced the budget, cut welfare, and presided over massive economic growth - but he was still destroyed by the Right, who ensnared him in a sex perjury trap that was tame compared to the wide stance Republican pedophiles in congress.

Obama doesn't get it. He can preside over the lowest tax rates in the nation's history and they are still going to call him a fascist socialist marxist muslim. He's got nothing to lose by actually fighting, yet his economic team is staffed with folks closer to Friedman than Keynes. Nobody in his cabinet or political team would qualify as a Democrat in the 60s. They would all have been moderate Republicans.

The Left needed a president who realized that he was in a bar fight. -a fight where the GOP was going to hit him over the head with filibusters until he was face down in a puddle of Colt 45. The Left needed a fighter, but instead they got the Bush tax cuts, no public option, and the continuation of the Patriot Act > a third term of Bush.

So yeah - it's hard to raise money for that. I'd rather see Mitt Romney own this economy so the country can finally see how dangerous supply side economics is during a deflationary period. If Obama stays in office, he will continue to get called Stalin by the Right when, in fact, he's more like Jimmy Carter - a man who doesn't understand that he is going to get destroyed by the Right even when he passes their policies. Meaning: if you're going down, why not go down swinging? Forget about finding a consensus with the Right.

You think Dick Chaney would let the Republican equivalent of Blue Dogs stop the Iraq War? Answer: no fucking way; some planes would have gone down. Chaney comes from the old school - a la Nixon. And so did FDR and LBJ. These politicians - like 'em or hate 'em - understood the game. If you fucked with them, [edit] let's just say things didn't turn out so well for you.

The game is over. The Left needs to go back to the drawing board and find some balls.

He's actually been doing a pretty good job of fighting. He got 20 billion from BP when Republicans apologized TO BP and blocked this administration from being able to investigate BP for what they did. Why do you think there has been no investigation. Without that and proof of wrongdoing, no one can sue. Republicans know it's worked "perfect".
Republicans blackmailed him into extending the Bush tax cuts by holding millions of Americans hostage threatening to cut off their unemployment. He knows the Republican leadership will buttfuck the middle class from the Atlantic to the Pacific and consider it a "job will done". He just couldn't let those people suffer. If I was him, I couldn't either.
The problem is the American public is more interested in Kim Kardashian than "politics". They don't know Republicans are fucking them over big time again and again. I suspect they will figure it out, but it will take time.
So Romney becomes president and really screws this country. Will Republicans be good little sheeple and beg, "Yea, deeper deeper"? Or will they look at what their leadership is doing to them and say, "HEEEY Wait a minute!"

Only time will tell.
