Um, no, not really. one could argue the Second Amendment was about the Slave Owners always being armed to keep the slaves under control... but that's neither here nor there.

You don't have to say it. When you say that gun ownership is a "right", then it's a right that Crazy People should have just like they have a right to worship an imaginary sky man who tells them to shoot people.

1) Don't sell high powered weapons like the AR-15
2) Thorough background checks for people who want to buy guns.
3) Give the police wider authority to seize guns from people who might be a danger to themselves and others.

But when you start out with the crazy position that gun ownership is "right", then everything else becomes a lot more difficult.
