It's all a game IMO...the dems vote for things when Repubs are in office, then turn around and call out the stupidity (Ex...Iraq). The Repubs are guilty of this as well. They vote for stupid legislation while a Republican is president and then publicly voice their disagreement with it and "change their stance." Classic political move.

Windfall tax is a stupid idea, especially when you can't show a "windfall." I'm not opposed to eliminating tax breaks for companies. But the practical effect, at least in every company I've ever worked for, is that when you have increased costs (be it taxes or whatever else) you send them on down the line to the end purchaser and keep your margin at its target.

I wouldn't say the Dems in Congress have a lower approval rating than Bush, I'd say Congress itself does (if it still does, what is Bush's now, 23%?). The only way to fix that is to get a Dem super majority.

They are the ones that for the last 4 years have been claiming we are just on the verge of attacking Iran. The threat of such an attack is why price are high according to a lot of people in the know. So guess what? They are responsible.

No alternative energy plan, no stem cell research, huge increase in the national debt by borrowing from China.

IF you would've read the entire post you would have seen that I know that you can't blame one person for everything.

Obviously their plan to lower gas prices hasn't worked... so let's try another plan like putting more oil in circulation... Has anyone heard of supply and demand?

And yes, I really don't want a permanent supermajority. IMO, it's bad for the country. But I certainly will enjoy seeing it for the next four years.

You can bet on Virginia adding a Dem Senator. there is no way that the lame Gilmore has even a slight chance against Mark Warner. Making Gilmore the nominee shows you how desperate the GOP is.

Here is another point to ponder. In 2005, Congress gave Bush sooo much money for Iraq, that they ran out of money to give. So the Federal Reserve had to print more money. That weakened the dollar big time. Example: If you only have a million $1 bills in circulation, they are each worth $1. If you print off another million and put them into circulation, then they are only worth 50 cents. Since Bush and the GOP congress printed and circulated more money because they ran out, then no wonder a barrel is now $140. Because the dollar is worth half. That means before Bush spent all our money in Iraq, and printed more money, a barrel actually is only $70. So Bush lowered the value of the dollar, which is one reason gas is so expensive. Yes China and India and speculators are to blame too, but so is all the money we borrowed from China and blablabla.

You GOP'ers are rediculous. You are trying to lie McCain into the White House and lie your way back into control of congress.

You are missing my point... I know it's not the Democrats that have raised the price of oil. But don't lie to the America people and tell them you have a common sense plan to lower prices just to get power in government.
