Let’s be honest for a moment. First we have all seen endless videos of Police abuses. People arrested improperly and illegally. Police serving search warrants on the wrong house. Police assaulting people. I could probably wipe out your bandwidth posting videos. And in the end we would agree that yes bad cops and cops doing the wrong thing exist but the events are in the minority.

But here is the real problem. The one we are not dealing with. The one we are ignoring. When you recognize a problem the next step is find a solution. Fix the problem.

Let’s take two very different but similar problems. Election integrity and police misconduct. There is a much higher percentage of police misconduct than fraudulently cast ballots. But even one fraudulently cast ballot is enough according to the RW to demand massive changes to the election system to prevent such fraud.

The same RW voices declare since the majority of cops are doing it right a majority of the time there is no need for any changes to the police.

For years I have advocated for police reform. I’ve outlined my ideals many times. They are common sense and workable. But they will never be implemented. Too many secretly want the cops to be abusive and even a little corrupt.

So to people subjected to or offended by police misconduct it seems frustrating. You grow up watching video after video of police misconduct. In big cities and small towns. In local, state, and federal cops. Misconduct appears to be everywhere. And nobody is seriously discussing reform or changes.

The defenders offer excuses for the police actions. Claiming they are needed and necessary.

We have all seen those excuses. Some here have offered them and shouted them.

So many people see it and know it is wrong. They really want reform but calls for reform fall on deaf ears. So they go extreme. Hoping in reality to get changes started. Holding the police officers accountable. Making changes to prevent the abuses.

Let’s give you an example. If you break it you bought it. A simple policy in effect at hundreds of stores. A policy in effect in homes. If a guest breaks something you can expect some sort of compensation. If you break something you expect to compensate the individual.

Police break things and do not compensate. They claim qualified immunity. They serve a search warrant. It isn’t for your house. But they bash in your door. They’re at the wrong house. They terrorize your family. They break your house. And in the end you might get an apology. But the costs of repairs are all on you. They don’t pay for what they’ve broken.

Outrage comes in many flavors and situations. Not all of them are excessive force or loss of life from idiocy. Some are people arrested for nothing. Some are people harassed for nothing.

Police lie about crimes to force compliance. Police conduct illegal searches. And year after year with no changes. No action to end the abuses. They lie on the stand and in reports and nothing happens.

Federal Agents were caught lying about their actions during the Bundy Ranch standoff. This action was so egregious the Judge dismissed all charges. Federal Agents committed perjury. A felony. Nobody was fired. Nobody was prosecuted. Nobody faced any penalty. The Federal Prosecutors didn’t face any legal jeopardy for Introduction of perjury. They didn’t face any threat to their law license.

Event after event. Action after action and nothing changes. It isn’t getting better. Exposing the abuses isn’t stopping it. Reform isn’t dead on arrival. It is stillborn before it arrives.

Calls to defund the police are made from desperation. We have to make changes. We have to reform the system.

Out of a thousand suspected cases in Riverside California of vote fraud. One case was found to actually be fraud. One out of a thousand. But this is enough to require massive changes for vote integrity.

Where are the calls to reform the police when abuses are far more prevent than one out of a million?

Most of the cases of so-called abuse cases that go national aren't abuse. In nearly every case it's been a black person breaking the law, resisting lawful arrest, and getting shot for his trouble. The solution to real abuses cases, just like fraudulent voting, is prosecution. We'll never completely eliminate crime, but we can take common sense approaches to minimize it.
