Decent Denver man being ripped from his wife & kids over archaic immigration policy

So....you are saying that if someone stole money from you and other people....but used it to support his family, went to church, was a good community member and was generally a nice guy....that he shouldn't be arrested and put in jail....you know, seperated from his family and the money he stole taken back from the family even though he was using it to pay for the kids to go to college.......he should just keep the money he stole and the family should keep the money?

got it......

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet has introduced legislation to aid Arturo Hernandez Garcia, who spent nine months living in the basement of a Denver church to avoid deportation and was arrested on Wednesday by immigration officers for removal from the U.S.

“Arturo has been a valued member of our community for nearly two decades,” Bennet said in a written statement. “As a business owner, he has contributed to our economy and has always worked hard to support his family. He should not be a priority for deportation. This is yet another example of this Administration’s misguided immigration policies that do not align with our national priorities and values.”

Colorado immigrant advocates say arrest of Arturo Hernandez Garcia is an affront to sanctuary movement The Colorado Democrat’s office said a private bill for the relief of Hernandez Garcia comes as Bennet has reached out to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and asked for more time in processing his case.

Hernandez Garcia was at work on Wednesday morning when ICE officers detained him unexpectedly. In October 2014, he took refuge in the basement of a Denver church for nine months, returning to his family in July 2015, after ICE sent him letter saying he was no longer an enforcement priority.

“Hernandez Garcia has overstayed his original, six-month visa by nearly 14 years,” ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok said in a written statement Wednesday. “He has exhausted his petitions through the immigration courts and through ICE. He is currently in ICE custody pending his removal.”

A Mexican woman seeking to avoid deportation is taking refuge in a Denver church after U.S. immigration authorities denied her request to remain in the country.

Jeanette Vizguerra (vihz-GEHR'-uh) skipped her scheduled check-in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials Wednesday in suburban Centennial. About 100 supporters demonstrated outside the building as her attorney, Hans Meyer, and a minister went inside and was told Vizguerra would not get another extension.

Meyer says the mother of four has been trying to get a visa granted to crime victims and the government has typically given extensions during that lengthy process.

ICE says she is an "enforcement priority" because she has two misdemeanor convictions and a judge had issued a deportation order for her in 2011.

Vizguerra vowed to continue her fight for her children's sakes.

Have we turned into Nazi Germany? This is ridiculous.

Bruce Lee was born in the United State to parents born in China....Chinese citizens.....they went back to China, he stayed their till he was college age, then he came here as a U.S. citizen...

If the law was good for Bruce Lee....it is good for this family.........

Have we turned into Nazi Germany?

That is a stupid fucking question...the nazis, national socialists, left wing morons.......persecuted innocent people who had broken no laws....this man broke the law.....to compare us to national socialists, for enforcing laws this guy knew about but broke anyway........is really fucking stupid....

Garcia broke the law. Either we apply the law equally, ignore the law, or we allow the government to choose to apply, or not apply, the law based on their whim. There are no other choices.

Any further questions?

Well I guess then you won't mind paying for his American born kids via our Welfare programs will you? The same with the Mexican women-she's got 4 kids born in this country and without their incomes--guess where they're going to go?

Removing these type of people isn't a solution, it only creates another problem. And it's because we have politicians that have said NO to every immigration reform bill that has come down the pipeline for the last 20 years. And guess who those politicians are? REPUBLICANS.

The problem really was Obama didn't deport them long ago. Quit making excuses for law breakers.

He's an illegal and should have been deported long ago. I couldn't care less how great a guy he is.

He's an illegal and what applies for one should apply for all. They are all here illegally and should ALL be deported.

Again then you shouldn't mind raising his American born kids on welfare until they're of age?

Why not, the government is daddy to 1/2 the kids in the country already thanks to you people.

He started a business, paid taxes, contributed to his community, and achieve what used to be known as the American Dream?!

Uh oh! Bad HOMBRE!!!

donald-trump-shocked.jpg

Appeal to emotion.....

What about appealing to emotion on all those people denied legal immigration because we can't raise the limits due to the current influx of illegals?

It's been the Republican party that has blocked any common sense immigration reform for 10 to 15 years now.

Marco Rubio--a Republican had a plan 4 years ago that they refused to even listen too. So we must assume that this is the 2.0 extension to the Republican Party's Family values platform. Their Christian values at work again--LOL Split em up and move em out.

I wonder how much this is going to cost the taxpayers in welfare and other social services programs?

trump-stupid-people-groups.jpg

Like "common sense" gun control?

Any time those words appear before a subject, its code for "give us our way or we will whine like spoiled toddlers"

Build a wall, start deporting the bad ones, if we get a few of the "good ones", oh well.

Once this is done modify our laws to allow for more legal immigrants if we need them.

If WALLS & FENCES worked there wouldn't be anyone crossing the border today. And if you would have actually read the article this man came over on a Visa--and applied several times to renew his visa or get a green card and was denied several times. By an archaic--barbaric Federal immigration policy--that Republicans have refused to reform for the last 10-15 years.

Here is a great video on the WALL--watch to the end and you see how much money we have already WASTED on walls and fences, then this video will move into another video on the terrain and issues associated with structural security. The ONLY WAY to secure the border is with high tech motion detectors and more border patrol stations. Anything they can see can and will always be compromised. (Congress will not appropriate money for another worthless POS wall, and they have already stated that.)

Then where are your democratic bills in congress? I don't see any, do you!

Have we turned into Nazi Germany? This is ridiculous.

Have you turned into a complete imbecile? The man overstayed his visa by 14 years. The woman has a deportation order against her for the last six years and she's been arrested at least twice. You really think the American people are going to get on your side with these kinds of examples?

My mother came to this country legally. They can do it too.

Yeah and he continually applied for immigration status throughout those 14 years and was denied by our archaic immigration policy--that Republicans have refused to reform for the last 10 to 15 years.

UMMMMMM, who controlled the White House, the Senate, and the house in 2009? Oh wait, nobody is supposed to know that, I forgot!

The kids can accompany their parents on their trip back to Mexico.

Problem solved.
Are you saying that American citizens should be deported "back" to Mexico?

It is up to the parents where they want their children raised, it is up to America if the parents are illegal to send them back.......where? HOME!

/---- Another sob story libs spread to make us drop our border security.

Well then you shoudn't mind when those two kids that are American citizens are left behind and put on Government assistance will you? The woman in the church has 4 American kids she will be leaving behind.

How do you know she won't take them with her? Did you ask her? And as I said, daddy government (Obama) is responsible for this problem, because he didn't deport them long ago when they had less kids. Maybe we should deduct child support payments from his retirement. What do you think!

Have we turned into Nazi Germany? This is ridiculous.

Didn't Trump even say these were the people he wouldn't go after? Saying he's two faced would be an insult to two faced people.

The guy already had a valid deportation order from the previous administration. They are just enforcing the judges order.

Yeah but it's dumber than shit, because we're going to be paying for his kids through Social Services programs and Welfare benefits. IOW--deporting him is going to be a lot more expensive than giving him a green card to work in this country.

You aren't a freakin judge COOKIE. You enforce the law, and if you don't like it, you try and change it! Sometimes the law works in your favor, sometimes it does not. Once they go back across the border, I am sure it will be much easier for at least 1 of them to get back in. It is like the person who steals food from a store because their family is starving. They are prosecuted, given a slap on the wrist, then the community helps them out as they are good people probably, who need help. The judge always tells them there is NO EXCUSE for what you did though.

So back across the border they go, and if they are upstanding, they will be back in 3 or 4 weeks. All you are doing is creating a phony narrative and pull at heart strings. To just allow them to stay instead of sending them out then letting them back, is setting a precedent for all illegals, good, bad, or terrible.

Right now we have strawberries & avocado's rotting on the vine. Migrant workers are not coming into this country (illegally) to help famers with their harvest. So milk, eggs, meat, fruit and vegi's will skyrocket. So when and if you finally realise what's happened you can call your nearest Republican, because it has been them that have squashed any immigration reform bill that was put on the agenda--over the last many years.
In A Pickle: Big Agriculture Anxiously Awaits Trump's Policy On Migrant Workers

These migrant workers are scared to death of Trump, along with archaic immigration laws that hasn't been reformed in decades--to allow these migrant workers into this country--legally (with green cards) to help farmers put out their harvest. So either go pick it yourselves or STFU.

They already did a case study on this in Alabama. Alabama kicked out all undocumented workers, and it wasn't long before they were begging them to come back.
Alabama law drives out illegal immigrants but also has unexpected consequences

This man in Denver was denied a green card by immigration authorities--so now YOU will be paying to support his two American kids. He has no job in Mexico, no home in Mexico, and probably very little money in his pocket. He was the income for his family. He is not going to take his wife & kids down to nothing, they will remain here where the safety net is.

Right now we have strawberries & avacado's rotting on the vine, Migrant workers are not coming into this country (illegally) to help farmers with their harvest. So your grocery bills will be going through the roof--(milk, eggs, chicken, meat, fruit & vegi's.) When you realis what's happened you can call your closet Republican to complain about it--as it has been they that have BLOCKED any immigration reform bill.

The irony of the left endorsing slave labor while simultaneously demanding a $15 an hour minimum wage never ceases to amaze me. I guess that $15 is meant for the white people while the brown ones can pick the vegetables under the table for $5 an hour so we all have cheap produce.

The left also says that the people in wealthy countries like the US should stop having children to relieve the burden on the environment. Meanwhile they are trying to import as many people from the third world into our country as they can, supposedly because there are too few births here.

Does anyone see the problem here?

The strange thing is that liberals that keep complaining about "archaic federal laws" after eight years of a liberal administration but their solution isn't to change the law or even enforce it. Lefties don't give a damn about some poor schlep spent 14 years on a 6 month visa and gets caught and deported. He is just a political tool for left wing propaganda.

What I don't understand, all these stories that liberals are always saying, he's been here for decades, he's a good illegal immigrant. Then if they are here for so long why haven't they started the legal immigration process so they would be a legal immigrant , now the free ride is over and liberals blame republicans

Spot on..

The guy has been living illegally in the US for 20 years and never tried to become a legal immigrant?

Nope--his American in-laws vouched for him--and it states that he had tried to renew his visa and or obtain a green card and was denied.
