In Washington and Colorado possession of an ounce of marijuana will be legal.
Our economy is on the verge of collapsing, the world is on fire and close to war, and you are concerned with marijuana.
Oh hell yeah!
Our economy is in no way on the verge of collapsing, the world is always on fire and close to war, and the OP topic addresses a number of important issues including the start of a new industry, how the state will regulate that industry, and fascinating questions concerning both public policy and the Federal governments relationship with the states.
What, if any, action will the DOJ take?
What will employment policy be with regard to drug tests in states where marijuana use is legal?
I doubt the DEA got the memo.
It should work out quite well for Colorado they are a right to carry state.
Reagan is important here.
Remember: he was, on many levels, a Libertarian. He campaigned on Small Government.
But he created the War on Drugs which gave Washington vastly expanded power over the states. This is why Bush was able to send the Feds into California to invade state sanctioned medical marijuana facilities.
The GOP does not trust the states to manage their own affairs.
The GOP believes that Big Government can create a one-size-fits-all solution for the states.
Don't ever trust a Republican when he starts flapping his lips about small government. It's always bullshit. Bush's Department of Homeland Security and Reagan's War on Drug grew Washington and gave it more power than anything ever imagined by Carter, Clinton or Obama.
I wonder how many who oppose legal marijuana enjoy a drink in the evening. Many held your position in 1933 when alcohol was made legal.
Obama will file suit, just as he did in California.
Fuck, don't trust an asshole that claims to be from fuckin London, he'll screw you over anytime and really doesn't give a shit, nor cares a fuck about us.
