Tom Philpott reported that Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) sidetracked a recent debate over TRICARE fee increases by pointing out that one way to save $200,000 in DoD health care would be for John Baldacci, the surprise appointee to lead a new comprehensive military health care review, to step down. "We don't need a health care czar," Wilson said. "We have veterans' service organizations that can provide this information" about needed reforms. "And this is not the government's money. This is taxpayers money being diverted from the military health care system."
