Cutting spending with an axe instead of a scalpel implies wholesale disregard for what impact those cuts might have. Sounds like a great way to cut your foot off.
Maybe a growing number of Americans have had enough of the wholesale disregard for the small businessmen and other taxpayers, who have to bear the brunt of the socialistic welfare/regulatory state bloat.

Look at the spending curve vs income curve for the last decade or two, you'll see that the $2-trillion budget went to $4-trillion and needs to get back to $2-trillion...use an ax.
