Here is the rreal story, and it is not about contempt of court, only about her removing her name: "The same judge who ordered Kentucky clerk Kim Davis to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples [which was contempt of court] has now rejected a motion filed by the ACLU that would have forced her to issue the licenses with her name and title on them."

Good. Davis doesn't have her name on the licenses anymore and gays can marry in Rowan Co. without her interference. It's time we move onto more pressing matters like half-time shows at the Super Bowl. lol

Ms Davis attacked the civil liberties of those wanted to marry. She had no civil liberty in HER OFFICIAL SECULAR POSITION to deny them.

On that you are right. The judge, however, says she does not have to, which has nothing to with contempt of court in the OP.

the concern was over those issued prior to the executive order allowing davis to remove her name but after she had already done so

The ACLU attorneys operate on the 'parachute' method. Meaning, they seek out and find issues which support their political ideology then make inquiries as to whether or not the person or group wishes their legal representation.
