Under any agreement struck, inmates could be moved to another country provided the facilities, regime and rehabilitation met British standards. Those standards were recently deemed to be so poor that a German court refused to extradite a prisoner to the UK.

Yes, any potential host must meet british jail standards. That standard is currently rated as "shit".

It really is a great example of conservative thinking. Increase sentences, dump rehab but neglect to add any more capacity to accomodate these paople.

We are not far from reintroducing hanging in order to free up a bit of space.

That's a great idea.

You should make a sign, and find a soapbox to stand on in your local park.

Or. you could do like democrats do here.

ten bob fine and put them back on the street.

Neither of them is a good suggestion. Maybe if we modernise our prisons and look at rehabilitation we would not have such reoffending rates. And maybe if we didnt have so many people on remand waiting for tril we would have less people in jail.
Maybe we could decriminalise petty drug offences as well.

Blair and Brown were in for over 13 years, why didn't they modernise jail's and decriminalise drugs?

There were a lot less criminals and they were able to rehabilitate many crims.Crime has rocketed under the tories.
Baseless crap again. Please provide links, not hot air

Prisons were overflowing under Labour, link supplied and proven fact, so why didn't they build more prisons?

Second time, why didn't they decriminalise drugs?

Whilst you're busy looking for facts and links, can you look to see why Blair and Brown didn't nationalise the utilities?

You spout more hot air than a hairdryer.

It would also help if we didn't lock political prisoners up like Assange.

I can't speak to the one from your area doing that. He's an old curmudgeon like me.
