Workers fired after participating in ‘A Day Without Immigrants’ strike

feb 18 2017 NOLENSVILLE, TN (WCMH) — While people all over the country participated in “A Day Without Immigrants” protests, one business in Nolensville, Tennesee, has fired 18 people for joining the movement.

Nearly 20 employees at Bradley Coatings, Incorporated were told they no longer had jobs on Thursday morning, a day after those employees took part in the nationwide strike.

“We are the team leaders directly under the supervisors, and they informed us last night that we could not go back to work and the boss said we were fired,” one employee told WTVF. The employee asked to remain anonymous, but said that the workers who participated in “A Day Without Immigrants” planned to make up the missed day on a Sunday.

“Tennesee is an employment-at-will state, which basically means an employer can end your employment at anytime without reason or cause,” said Chris Cannon, a spokesperson with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. “Of course, there are a lot of different stipulations, civil rights issues that could stop them from doing that.”

If they were supposed to be at work on the day that they weren't there, then to me, they got what they deserved.

God bless you always!!!

Another positive indicator that normalcy is returning to the US.

I'm hoping trump will end MLK day. MLK was just a racist white-hater and a completely useless person - a silly community organizer who thought making speeches was valuable work!!!. Let's have a day for useful people like edison or henry ford or steve jobs.

I'm just proud to see business owners taking back command of thier own financial interests. Rather than being held hostage to an over-privileged under class, or minority group. The fringe left has overplayed thier hand for far too long now. It's heartening to see some semblance of decency finally returning to our country.
