The Senate Judiciary Committee has begun the confirmation hearings for Neil Gorsuch, popular vote loser Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee. But they should stop early and postpone the process because of today’s revelation from FBI Director James Comey that there is an ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and—critically—"the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts."
Moments before Comey's opening statement Monday morning, Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley confidently tweeted:

After Comey briefing + doc review I can say @POTUS and Clapper R both right about this No evidence of Trump collusion w Russia

Clearly, Grassley wasn't listening during the briefing or reading those documents correctly. Because the FBI is clearly still investigating that possibility.
And with that big, black cloud hanging over the Trump regime, the last thing the Senate should be doing is considering a lifetime nomination to the Supreme Court. The legitimacy of this presidential regime is now in serious question, and this nomination should be, too.
Comey revelation changes everything, Senate should postpone Gorsuch Supreme Court nomination hearing
