What I mean by, "don't let the establishment do the thinking for you," is for instance take your previous post, you called out andaronjim for believing that Trump supports a "pedophile." IOW, you actually believe the media's accusations on this whole Roy Moore kerfuffle.
If you had been paying attention, you would know that that whole incident had been manufactured by a dirty tricks election squad, enabled by establishment media. What do we know? Do a little critical thinking and research. I read a thread, started by a centrist/liberal, using a right-wing source which I myself usually loath as much as I loath HuffPo, but it included a little bit of an UNDENIABLE bit of PROOF, that these accusations have been manufactured. I agree with you, the tax plan DOES benefit Trump, his business partners, and his corporate friends. That is the price of elections. As Obama said, elections have consequences, we need not make it personal. The MSM will all tell us that this is not good for the nation. All of them. They represent the socialist state apparatus. They do not want free market growth, they want controlled government growth.
We will not know for sure what the consequence of this will be. In the short term, sure, the poor will suffer. IN the end, it may actually lead to a higher national growth rate, and thus, in the end, MORE jobs and more opportunity for the lower classes. IF you are a government bureaucrat in the business of dolling out benefits or creating a dependent, addicted, disabled, and criminal class, that isn't always looked at as a good thing, that is why the elite media are in the business of trying to convince the nation that creating small business and a climate of entrepreneurship is a bad thing. Remember, they abhorred Reagan for doing the same thing.
It is a shame they do not cut military spending as much as they are cutting taxes, honestly, this is all bullshit. I agree with you. I abhor what is going on.
For rational non-partisans, there are no good options. The REAL losers here are small businesses. THEY NEED this tax relief to help grow the economy and create jobs, but we do not need to continue to keep the leviathan of this federal swamp continuing it's boot heal of oppression on our necks. Did you watch that movie "Snowden?" I watched it the other day with my son. I could not believe how quickly we forgot about all of that crap, and go back to letting them rob us of our freedoms and create this massive and intrusive police state that we live in, just for a few hundred "terrorists," that the state probably creates by it's meddling overseas.
It's all a twisted disgusting mess.

If we had never listened to establishment propaganda, they would have never destroyed the Unions nor would government regulations been allowed to destroy the auto industry. These state socialists and big government goons would take away the freedom of people and Michigan would sacrifice it's main industry to appease these Utopian idealists, and it is all bullshit. Individual freedom is more important, and in the end, will bring more collective prosperity.
