Be careful what you wish for Hugo Fat Ass! The battle test and large Colombia army is going to kick the shit out of the poor-man's dictator in Venezuela! With the backing of the US, I wonder which country will be flatten in the end!

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chavez told his military to be prepared for a possible confrontation with Colombia, warning that Bogota's plans to increase the U.S. military presence at its bases poses a threat to Venezuela.

Chavez has issued near daily warnings that Washington could use bases in Colombia to destabilize the region since learning of negotiations to lease seven Colombian military bases to the United States.

"The threat against us is growing," Chavez said Sunday. "I call on the people and the armed forces, let's go, ready for combat!"

The former paratroop commander said Colombian soldiers were recently spotted crossing the porous 1,400-mile border that separates the two countries and suggested that Colombia may have been trying to provoke Venezuela's military.

Obama won't do shit about this...well he might visit and hand chavez a copy of his book.

are you forgetting farc ? they will play an important role since the rumors are that chavez is giving them cash.

That is why Colombia wants to confront Hugo Fat Ass. I am sick of Fat Ass playing as the victim, when he actively supports FARC. He gives them freedom to plan operations in Venezuela, attack Colomibia and then retreat to Venezuela, provides them weapons and intelligence etc. Fat Ass is the aggressor, because he was a communist/socialist revolution in Colombia! It would be nice to see Fat Ass's ego knocked down!

why would the us be involved at all?

Hugo is making it about a US military base in Colombia. Point at the US for a confrontation you have been iching for and poor Latin America Nations will support you! So that is reason #1.
Reason #2: Even Obama hates Chavez. We all hate this communist/socialist dictator in charge of Venezuela.
Reason #3: Since when the hell have we kept our noses out of anything!

Good. I'd love to say Uribe's head on a pike.

I loved to say, I assume you mean see! I was waiting for the local communist to speak. Funny how strokes like you dismiss anything that communist dictators do, but attack free market Democractic countries. Interesting!

First, Venezuela's military wouldn't stand a chance against the battle tested Colombian Army.
Second, why not trying moving to your socialist paradise in Venezuela instead of praying for marxism to come to America?

Any fiscal conservatives who would actually consider the cost of another war?

Remember, Wolfowitz assured us that the Iraq war would only cost $50 billion USD. and would be paid for with Iraqi oil.

With the U.S. being the largest consumer of Columbia's main export, are we going to pay for this war with drug money?

Does anyone actually think these things through before advocating them? Or do you just hate America?

Who is advocating a war with Venezuela?

Colombia would be able to take of them by themselves.

Hey stupid! America isn't going to invade Venezuela, Colombia doesn't need any help. However, we will sell arms, vehicles and supplies!

Sort of reminds me of what happened to Idi Amin. He tried to seize a chunk of Tanzania, and got chased out to Saudi Arabia for his pains.

It looks like this is going to be the first inter american fracas since Bush 1 chased Noriaga out of Panama.

I don't see any reason for us to get involved at all.
