This is a vignette about the Coast Guard inspired by the film Striking Distance.

Shipwreck (the valiant sailor and operative of 'G.I. Joe') was assigned to monitor all coastal activity in Miami to aid the Coast Guard in managing narcotics flow from Europe and South America coming into North America. Shipwreck knew that the Coast Guard was a vital line of symbolic defense in the global struggle to preserve order in the face of the dizzying emergence of geopolitical intelligence (e.g., World Bank, NATO, European Union, etc.). The Coast Guard was happy to have this shrewd G.I. Joe help them in this modern 'crusade.'
Of course, the G.I. Joes had good reason to worry, since new age terrorists (working under the umbrella-title 'Cobra') were scheming to destabilize all levels of national contact and border securities in this modern age of commerce and flow of goods. If the virtual world of online commerce (e.g., eTrade) was to be 'smooth,' then the real-world of goods transportation (e.g., UPS) had to be legal and clean. The Coast Guard was America's first line of 'diplomacy' in this modern landscape of immigration, production, and transit.
GOD: The Coast Guard represents moral hygiene.
SATAN: There should be more movies about the Coast Guard.
GOD: Narcotics trafficking has been glamorized in the media.
SATAN: Yes, and big-name actors have glorified drug-dealers.
GOD: True, but human beings understand the dangers of gluttony!
SATAN: Commerce can make the world brutally 'efficient.'
GOD: Production can seem more 'valuable' than screening.
SATAN: Fortunately, American politicians still care about the FDA.
GOD: Yes, and the NSA's cyber-division symbolizes tech-governance.
SATAN: I think Shipwreck will protect G.I. Joe's mission-statement.
GOD: As long as the Coast Guard is guided, Shipwreck will be honoured.
SATAN: Maybe I should tell Shipwreck about beautiful mermaids...
GOD: No man (or sailor) can resist the allure/charms of 'female distraction.'
SATAN: Ever notice how drug-dealers are often portrayed with gorgeous wives?
GOD: Commerce is power, and pirates will use chemistry/addiction to profit!
SATAN: I think priests of the modern era must consider the value of television.
GOD: Yes, the media has become a 'vehicle' for social consciousness (e.g., EWTN)!
SATAN: There are numerous programs about the drug-world (e.g., Drugs, Inc.) now.
GOD: Let's pray that Shipwreck serves as the Coast Guard's best-friend.
SATAN: I'll refrain from luring Shipwreck towards exotic mermaids!
