379 people evacuated airliner, 6 5 or 6 on Coast Guard plane died.
The Japanese passengers survived because they can follow directions.

In the US 87% of the passengers would have died. Because:

They ignored the safety brief,
Have no idea of where the nearest exit is,
They would not be listening to the F/As directions,
12 of the passengers would already have their seatbelts undone when the collision occurred in anticipation of rushing up front to be one of the first off,
People would have been grabbing their carry ons,
15% would be filming or livestreaming and doing commentary blocking the aisles.
There would be at least 2 fights going on.
They would be going the wrong way in the aisles,
Some 400 pound fat advocate Karen would be stuck in the exit window.

The A350 hit this:

Bombardier 300 "Shimataka".

Sadly, much of that is true. All of those people followed directions and were off the burning plane in 90 seconds. Probably none of them were big enough to block the exit, and no one started complaining they couldn't take their carry-on out of the overhead bins.

The Coast Guard plane missed the stop sign and entered the runway without permission from the air traffic controller, who also missed a warning on the control panel. The air traffic control system was designed to show the Coast Guard plane in red on the runway to be used by the incoming JAL flight. The controller may be charged with criminal negligence.
