Christopher Moncktons take on Chuck Hagel is superb. Im only excerpting the part about Margaret Thatcher because I want to make a connection to Hillary Clinton:
Hillary Clinton is no Margaret Thatcher although she is starting her presidential campaign by portraying herself as a super-patriotic hawk:
Ill dispose of Biden before getting to Clinton:
The filthy sneak opposed the raid even though he spent years criticizing Bush the Younger for not capturing bin Laden. Biden did not say he was in favor of the raid in his praise of the most vicious military-hater to ever live in the White House, nor did Biden say he opposed it. By not telling the public he opposed the raid he implies that he, too, has all of the attributes he assigns to his boss. In truth, had the raid turned out badly the filthy sneak could have said he was against it from the start. Thats called having it both ways.
Incidentally, the way Biden blew his own trumpet in the aftermath of the raid that killed bin Laden is reason enough to NOT want Barack Taqiyya impeached.
Nobody in their right mind wants Biden to replace Taqiyya. Even if it could be done after the midterms why throw away five years of contempt for Taqiyya just to give the edge in 2016 to a vice president who is even more contemptible than whats there now.
Hillary Clinton
1. Both Clintons hated the US military long before Barack Taqiyya was a community organizer. Being in favor of the raid that killed bin Laden is the only thing Hillary Clinton has going for her. On the other side of the coin she backed military intervention in Syria.
2. What was then-Secretary of State Clintons part in NOT sending help to the men under attack in Benghazi? Somebody had to give the order to stand down. Assuming the order came from the commander in chief what was Clintons advice? Shes quick to take credit for supporting the raid on bin Laden even quicker in distancing herself from Benghazi.
3. When Clinton threw her little temper tantrum she never said that she would use the military to save American lives in future Benghazi-like attacks.
Parenthetically, should she become president one can only hope that she will do everything she can do to prevent another Waco Massacre from ever happening again.
4. Hillary Clinton would use the US to fight touchy-feely military interventions for the United Nations, but will only fight for this country without first getting the UNs approval in response to another Pearl Harbor.
Few people realize it but Clinton caught a big break because Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Chris Stevens were not in the military at the time of their deaths. It would be a different story had Secretary of State Clinton abandoned active duty military people. The mysterious stand down order would never have been issued while marines were fighting for their lives because the blowback would have been fierce. Nor would Clinton dare tell the military What difference, at this point, does it make.
5. The lies Clinton told to Sean Smiths mother is an insight into how she feels about American civilians getting killed defending American territory.
Heres a warm and fuzzy thought for you. Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden are the best the Democrat party has to offer.
Let me close by returning to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. He was confirmed by a vote of 58 to 41. Need I say more?
Let me tell you a story, Chuck, you waste of space. A friend of mine in the SAS was sent out with his men to the Falklands to carry out a vital mission during the Argentinian invasion. He told me that as the helicopters that had dropped him into enemy territory whickered off into the night, he and all his men knew they could absolutely and unquestioningly and unquestionably rely on Margaret Thatcher never, never, never to let them down.
As soon as Margaret became prime minister, she made it quite clear that she valued and supported Britains armed forces, and would always do so. No one who served during her distinguished premiership ever had reason to doubt her resolve.
She was not known as the Magatollah for nothing.
And the armed forces loved her. They would, and did, go anywhere for her. They went out to the Falklands to fight an unwinnable war, and they won it. While the left in Parliament sneered and sniveled and equivocated and did their level best to undermine our troops, the Thatcher administration stood firm and resolute and took great trouble to convey that resolution to the forces in the field.
If Sandy Woodward and his boys needed backup, they got it. If the families of the 250 heroes who died recapturing the Falklands and at the same time liberating Argentina from dictatorship needed help and support, they got it. No questions asked.
That, Chuck, you apology for an apology, is not just the right approach: It is the only approach a government should take toward its armed forces.

Memo to Obama: Chuck Hagel
Hillary Clinton is no Margaret Thatcher although she is starting her presidential campaign by portraying herself as a super-patriotic hawk:
No ears reported any mention of whatever 2016 ambitions Clinton might have. But state Rep. Tom Taylor, R-Dunwoody, said the former first lady dropped a huge hint. "I know shes running for president now, because toward the end, she was asked about the Osama bin Laden raid. She took 25 minutes to answer," Taylor said. "Without turning the knife too deeply, she put it to [Vice President Joe] Biden."
Time and time again, Taylor said, Clinton mentioned the vice president's opposition to the raid, while characterizing herself and Leon Panetta, then director of the Central Intelligence Agency, as the action's most fierce advocates.
