Wasn't sure where else to put this, but 'History' certainly describes it well.

While I've seen a lot of American porn from this period, by modern standards it'd be best-described as softcore. Wasn't until the mid 40s to 50s that we began to see more explicit 'stag films' emerge. Once in a while I google around for 'vintage porn' and yesterday I found one I'd never seen before.

An assortment of short ~5 mins French scenes from 1925-1943 (as revealed by the end 'placard' with the scene's title and year of production.) Compared to US versions from this time, this was in every sense 'XXX' content. And towards the end included a lot of gay scenes as well in addition to the lesbian content throughout.

Watching it earlier, I found myself wondering if the whole invention of motion pictures was to make and show porn. Gotta figure the earliest motion picture cameras were so primitive that trying to show something mundane resulted in "oh isn't that clever. Well, cya." BUt if you show porn, as now, people will put up with the shakey camera, b&e grainy film stock, and everything else. As a kind of historical document I find this kind of thing fascinating. Think of porn as something new or from the 70s and yet here's content which if in color might be mistaken for modern (other than the women were much...stockier shall we say.)
