deep within the statistical brain!!
The assumption was that the building for the presidential announcement was rented out to the Christie for President campaign, but a request under the OPRA (Open Public Records Act) shows otherwise. The "Office of the Governor" rented the building for Christie's announcement, which means that the taxpayers of NJ just paid for his announcement.

Presidential candidates are expected to pay their own campaign expenses.

It will be interesting to see how this all turns out.

No one seriously expects Gov Krispie Kreme to spend his own money when he can waste NJ taxpayer dollars instead.

So you are saying Hillary RENTED the UN building for hers?

A certain resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has been known to use a customized US Government Bowing 747 as transportation to campaign events.
You've got no problem with that, do you?

Quick question: are you brain damaged?

Her big announcement was at Four Freedoms Park at the southern tip of Roosevelt Island, NYC. It was in the open and I am quite sure she footed the bill for the space for that day.

There is no UN building there, you doofus.
The UN headquarters are in Turtle Bay, you doofus.

Now, go put your tinfoil back on. Oh, wait, you still have it on.

Are you talking about the President of the USA? Yes, he uses AF1. The secret service requires that the President use methods of transportation where they can protect him the best. You do realize this, right?

You get to do that when you are the president.

Great loophole. Yup, the airplane is how he should travel, but his campaign should be reimbursing us.
It's really an ethical matter and of course, doesn't matter to you.

Secret Service won't allow the potus to travel in any other aircraft so that is a disingenuous deflection.

FYI Gov Krispie Kreme used a NJ state police helicopter to fly to one of his son's baseball games and had to reimburse the state.

This isn't his first offense so he should know better by now.

Why do you assume the campaign is not reimbursing the taxpayers?

Did you bother to do any research first?

I don't think anyone seriously cares about Fat Bastard.

Actually, I am going to research this, I did once before, in 2012. If I recall, the actual flight costs for the president and his entourage are covered in part by we the people. But the space or building rental and or any other costs for any election venue must be paid by the President's campaign.

Who pays when the president travels for the campaign
