China, eating our lunch, breakfast, and dinner

Well, can't imagine China reducing the number of shitty goods any time soon. And if the cheap goods are stopped or slowed, people would have to buy more expensive goods. And if only more expensive goods were available liberals would piss and moan even more than they do now.

I want jobs for Americans. ....

What kind of jobs?

All kinds. For all kinds of Americans.

You’ll have to be more specific than that.

I want high tech research jobs for those geniuses who have the knowledge and the skills to do them....

Do you really think tech jobs are only for geniuses? Do you realize how many tech jobs go unfilled each year?

...

I want the jobs that you could train a monkey to do, but with the best pay we can encourage, for those the have the knowledge and the skills that that is all they can do......

You whine about "slave labor" and third-world unskilled labor, but you want to have that here and by some unicorn magic make that same unskilled labor worth 1000000X more here? Just because you really, really wish it were so?

I was referring in that specific post to the extreme research ones, where you need to be a genius to understand the subject.

No, I don't think you need to be a genius to be in high tech jobs. I've had high tech jobs and trained people for them myself.

The "magic" is called Supply and Demand.

I've seen it rise the price of even unskilled labor, enough to make the difference between poverty and poor but acceptable lifestyle.

A concept you seem to understand not at all.

I made my point. YOu cut it instead of addressing it.

I live in a city with a good sized population. The major health system here bought the smaller town hospital where my mother in law worked as a nurse's aide.

There was major issues with wage differences because the workers out there, away from the large labor pool of the city had won significant raises over the years, so that they were making much more than those aides in, now, the same system who worked in the city.

THe difference was such that my mother in law, was able to co support my wife's family and provide a modest but safe and secure childhood for my wife and her brother and sister.

while those in the city, just were fucked.

Government is a very important part of what makes a nation powerful or not.

No individual hunter gather ever made a nation powerful. That is fore sure.

That would be helpful, if Trump was a libertarian who had abolished the Dept of Commerce and removed all customs and/or controls of imports and exports.

As that's not what is happening, your post is moot.

You are welcome to your Marxist-leaning views, but don't imagine they are shared by most Americans. Real progress comes through competition and hard work. If you'd spent any time in a communist system you'd see where the road you want leads.

Systems where either the extreme right or extreme left dominates end up being dead end systems. The Social Democratic systems, in which both socialism and capitalism exist have proven to be the best for most of us, as pragmatism is the deciding factor as to what we use where.

1. If I had put forth the argument that we should nationalize the hospitals, and set the wages by political degree, that would be marxist.

2. What I put forth was a reasonable economic policy.

3. Nurse aides in both places worked plenty hard. It's not really the type of job with a lot of competition.

4. What policies could or would you support to serve the interests of unskilled or semi-skilled workers?

A road strewn with obstacles, yet ambitious enough to change the world and, most of all, China.

As pointed out, great risks, but could have great rewards. A transcontinental railway had never been built before, and to start that project in a nation torn by a bitter civil war looked to be insane, but we did it. And the Interstate Highway System was a very costly project, indeed, but has paid it way many times over. The Apollo Project was our last great risk, we were successful, and part of the payback is the very system we are using to communicate. If we do not remember how to dream big in the near future, we will have ceded the leadership of the world to the Chinese. And they will have earned it.

Du you understand that in order to make Silk Road functional China needs to destroy Muscovy ?
