Yep. Never has been a good idea to burn your food for fuel. The three main sources of energy, crude, natural gas, and nuclear and we're fiddle farting around with the bottom three sources ie wind, solar, and biofuels. It's not going to be a surpise when we're in the rearview mirror.

Our energy policy is this....We don't have an energy policy...other then hand our dollars over to the Saudi's
pretty soon the value of our dollar thanks to Obama won't be worth a whole lot and we have to pay in Euros.

Only problem for China is they do not have the engineers to build all these reactors, China is 100% dependent on the USA and other nations for the technology and engineers.

truth be told I have no love for fossil fuels. However, until the technology gets us there solar won't carry the load, so coal is our mainstay. ( wind is a regional gig, if it works go for it but it will never substitute for coal).

The point is the one thing I could never understand and that does really point to the lunacy displayed by the so called Greens is why nuclear is banged out of the park as an alternative? Its unreasonable and speaks to an illogic that borders on the psychotic inho.

Oh and china will still continue to open new cola fired power pants to the tune of one a month for the next couple of years as they have been doing in the past. Adding nuclear to their portfolio however will provide them viable alternatives down the road....and us?

Like they are dependent on us for computers? Or cars? The Chinese are doing exactly what the Japanese did after WW2. They are playing a serious game of catch up, with the ultimate goal of surpassing us.

Abstract: This paper started with describing first degree in engineering programs in
Australia and China. It was found that the number of first degree in engineering awards
per capita for Australia and China was at par. Post-graduate programs in engineering
in the two counties were also mentioned and compared. For master’s degree in
engineering, the number of graduates for Australia to China per capita is 1 to 4.22. It
was also discovered that most of the master’s degree in engineering in both countries
were by coursework. There was no master’s degree in engineering by research program
on offer in China similar to that offered in Australia.
