Child separations began 9 months earlier than Trump administration claimed

The Trump administration has said that the number of children separated from their families is 2600. But the number is more than 5,000 and the program began 9 months earlier than admitted, a CBS investigation found.
No senior official would speak to us for this story but President Trump ended his separation policy after 11 weeks. The White House says more than 2,600 children were detained. But reports from various agencies show at least 5,000 children have been held since Mr. Trump's inauguration. The White House says only 25 remain to be reunited with their families, but given the bungled recordkeeping, and no public accounting of the mysterious El Paso pilot program, there may never be an accurate count of how many children were taken from their parents.

...

But we've obtained what the White House didn't want the public to see. The document reveals that child separation began nine months earlier than the administration acknowledged. There was a pilot program in the busy "El Paso sector" from "July to November 2017". We don't know how many children were taken in those five months. The censored part of the memo explains a reason for the policy -- deterrence -- as it "will have the greatest impact on current flows" [of immigrants.]

Shame those diseased illegal criminals not only break the law by coming into this country but drag their sick brats with them. I say send in ICE agents like Bill Clinton, fully armed and armored, grab the kids out of the parents hands and ship them back to their next of kin in their own country. If Bill Clinton set the precedence then President Trump is following suit.

These are people who are receiving death threats in their countries from the worst gangs in the world. It's either die or try to get assylum. What would you choose?

Not our problem.

Nope. Not our problem and unlike the Op no one wants to make it our problem.

You can't cure stupid.

Whatever it takes, to send a loud, clear message to those contemplating crossing our southern border illegally.

"If you cross our border illegally, you will be arrested and prosecuted."

That usually means that the suspect will be separated from other family at the time of arrest and detention.

Standard operating procedure for any criminal prosecution in the US or darned-near anywhere else on the face of the planet.

Don't want to experience that?

Don't want your kids to experience that?

Don't cross our border illegally.

Simple.

Fun-time's over, Lib-Prog kiddies... you should'a made a deal while you still could... time's up... these are your consequences.

Enjoy.

We have federal laws about immigration.

This is Mexico’s problem, not ours.

Mexico let a bunch of illegal immigrants enter their country.

Oops. Maybe they should have secured their southern border.

Mexico’s shitty border enforcement isn’t the problem of the USA. We aren’t any better than they are. How dare we try to fix their problems.

Anyone know how many of these fake 'asylum seekers' are refusing to take their children back? we know many of them are, but the media is somehow very reluctant to report how many. I guess we can assume all of those the let claims are 'still in limbo' are those whose alleged 'parents' are refusing to take them back at this point. In any case, they need to be dropped off at their respective countries' embassies and consulates so they can handle their own criminal trespassers. they aren't our problem. Or, all these fake 'humanitarians' can step up and sponsor them at their own expense; I keep hearing from these' humanitarians' all these young men are 'hard working n honest n stuff', so I can't understand why Obama or Pelosi aren't putting up a couple dozen each in their big houses and setting an example for all the other deviants and gimps to follow.

That little kid from Cuba, was under death threats if he didnt come home, yet that racist Bill Clinton got his ICE agents to raid the little boys house, grabbed the kid out of the families hands, and deported him back to that wonderful Socialist Country of the 3rd world. Dont give my some sympathetic excuse of these diseased people, they crossed all of Mexico to come here, and broke their laws and ours. Go fuck yourself you TRAITOR to this country...

Probably 3 thousand don't want the kids back, they want them to stay here and later on provide the anchor for a wave of chain migrations for the whole family, plus the 783 other first cousins and other current living relatives.

Elian wasn't under threat. You made that up. Hence the lack of source.
