The new frontline of Cornwall’s war on second homes

Its not just a Cornish issue. Any area of the UK outside the South East is under threat from colonisation.

So the second homers move in. The cost of housing increases and local people cant afford to live there.

And when they move out the schools close and the Doctors follow the people. Everything decays.

Its a good example of how the market oppresses people and why we need strong local government to fight our corner.

It revitalises the area by giving work to local tradesmen that would otherwise be unemployed. It increases the amount of housing stock in the long run as more people move in. They pay their council tax, water rates, electricity and fuel, and most of the homes end up as retirement homes for the owners. The owners then take an interest in local community matters and join clubs, parish councils, church groups and keep alive traditional activities..


The schools have already shut down by this time as the locals have already left after seeing their jobs go to migrants working for peanuts. The closing of rural doctors surgeries and the lure of easy money in the big cities also has an impact on local infrastructure, and the people who complain the loudest and longest about the second homes are the failures in
life that underachieved from the day they were born. They cant afford to do it themselves so the green monster appears and they write letters full of profanities and slander in their jealous rages. Then whinge about the waste of police time in tracking them down and arresting them to anyone who is left to listen.

I know many like this and they are invariably neo marxist goons that dont know they are neo marxist goons.

Its odd that the locals who live there cant see it that way.

All of them, or just a hand full that are members of project fear just like you. They would soon complain if they had nothing and had to travel every day just to buy food. Could you justify losing £1000 a week running a shop/post office that catered for 20 people spending £100 a week
