And I didn't need the CBO to tell me that, I knew it BEFORE the election.

Just talking shit on a message board here, but seems to me that the Republicans need to separate the Bush tax cuts from spending cuts.

The Republicans were successful in protecting 99.4% of people from tax increases. So they sign off and take the tax cuts out of the picture.

Then they can use the debt ceiling as a blunt instrument. Not saying they have the stones to do it, but it would be the only reason to sign off on this shit legislation.

the deal is a dog's breakfast. It seems the ultimate rationale for passing it was to say "look, we compromised on something and averted the fiscal cliff" rather than actually solving the real problem, which is the deficit. It solves a political problem, not a fiscal one.

The Repubicans in the House will get chewed up any way they go. If they vote for this mess, they will be accused of backing down on principles by supporting a tax increase and failing to cut spending. If they vote against it, they will be accused of causing the fiscal cliff. It is a no win situation politically. But it was always going to be that way.
The only thing left is for them to do the right thing: put out a bill that reflects out actual needs in cutting spending, limiting deductions, lowering the corporate tax rate and send it to the Senate where it will die.
The fiscal cliff is better than any otehr alternative out there.

Obama hinted yesterday that he was going to ask wealthy to pay even more taxes in a few months which got a LOT of house Republicans upset and pissed off.

I still say no to this deal if I were voting on it. It adds absolutely nothing in terms of spending cuts, which this country should be 100% focused on.

They just said on CNN that the House Republicans are going to for sure amend the bill and then send a new bill back to the Senate.

House Republicans are PISSED about this report according to CNN that just came out over the last hour.

You can't seriously be expecting people to give up their obama phones could you? ... pfft ...

This country is going down the shitter and fast, thanks to all those socialist pieces of garbage that voted obama back in office for a second go at ruining our country.
