I don't trust any of the major corporations (in most cases). Their main goal is profit. So they'll try to convince the public to do something that will further that goal. This is true of Big Pharma; Processed "Food" Manufacturers; etc.

Colgate includes fluoride in their product, which is actually bad for teeth (it will embrittle teeth over time).
