Can incumbency overcome Obama's failed Presidency, to get reelected?

While incumbency is a big advantage, it can not be the only thing, just
ask Jimmy Carter or Bush senior.

Historically, unemployment around 7.2 or higher will probably do him in, come election time.

Granted, the Left will do the usually "blame Bush"; but this falls stale upon the voter's
ears because they know it is not true.

People prefer to vote for "something" not against

What can Papa Obama offer?

Hope and Change ? Will not work, since at this point in time, people are full of Hope that
administrations will Change

It does appear, if things do not change, Papa Obama is done

Of course, their is the "luck" factor
and sometimes a day can be a "lifetime in politics"

If history tells us anything--it's that Americans vote their wallets. Notable--GHW Bush had an approval rating in the 80% right after the 1st Gulf War--1 year prior to the election--we went through an almost a non-felt recession during the Clinton race--and Clinton pulled it off.

This economic crisis is much more serious than what happened to GHW Bush--so I imagine that this race will look more like the Carter/Reagan race--which will be over very early election eve--as the GOP candidate will win in a total knock-out that hasn't been seen since the Reagan era.

Voters have short memories.

I think Obama will be a formidable opponent in spite of his low approval ratings.

Republicans have this way of fucking up wet dreams.

Obama has only 1 Chance to win, and that is to convince Americans that Despite his Near Super Majority in Both Houses for 2 years, and Control of the Senate still. The Evil Mean Republicans have managed to stop his Glorious Plans that would have saved us all.

All I know, is if he manages to pull that off, I give up on the American People.

He's a great campaigner so I don't discount his ability to win, but he's a lousy leader with an abysmal record. I think voters will see through his rhetoric this time...we'll find out in 14 months!

He will be reelected by a bigger margin than when he won in 2008.

What, I want to know. Is if you are wrong and he loses. How long will you hide out and not post in here? Or will you just change your name like many Libs did when GW won his second term?

lol

Salt will not be hiding when Obama loses. Salt will voluntarily have their account deleted by an admin, as per our wager. There's also an IP ban involved, so no new accounts.

Let's be honest here. Most of the people who voted for Obama have no idea what's going on.Most of them have no idea who the VP is.,have no idea what the bush tax cuts ere all about, what the stimulus was supposed to do.

All they know is what the liberal controlled media tell them.Bush and the republicans are bad and Obama is Great.White people don't like Obama because he is black.

Obama gets the same voters back again...

I can't see that happening, Rozman. Last time, Obama pulled huge numbers with young first time voters, women, Latinos and Independents. Since the 2008 election however those young folks have got rampant unemployment...Latinos didn't get the immigration reform that Barry promised...women control the purse strings in most families and Barry is polling terribly with females right now...as for Independents? They pretty much jumped ship before the 2010 midterms and God knows Barry hasn't done anything since then that's wowed them.

I don't think the young vote shows up this time around...

I think he gets about 20% less of the women's vote...

I think Latinos want jobs now more than they want immigration reform...

I think Independents are going to vote the same as they did in the midterms.

The two things that Obama DOES have going for him is a HUGE war chest and he's still being treated with kid gloves by the main stream media.

All and all though? I think he's in DEEP trouble. He needs good news on the economy in a bad way. My guess is that he's going to stand up in front of a Joint Session of Congress and give us more of the same old shit he's been pedaling for the past two years. His progressive base will eat it up with a spoon (as they have EVERY speech the guy gives) but for a vast majority of people in this country? If he's teased us with this BIG jobs plan and it turns out to be just more hot air? They are going turn on him in a big way.

Salt...put down the pipe, Dude!

If Obama "does" win? It will be by the slenderest of margins. He's got some States that went Democratic last time that normally don't...and they went that way because Obama was able to market himself on some rather vague notion of "Change You Can Believe In". This time he's going to have to run on his record and his record is bad. My prediction right now is that this time he loses Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana and Colorado...States he took in the last election. You can't loose swing States as big as those and have enough electoral college votes to win. Know you like and support the guy but I'm not seeing it...

In the words of the former Clinton campaign?

It's about the economy, stupid.

Let be more honest then, most of the people who voted for McCain have no idea what's going on either. Obama is a socialist redistubting marxist terrorist sympathising alien ......so really, we're a nation of dumb fucks...........

Obama, Bush, McCain, Clintons....politician statists who will promise you the moon to get your vote. Then when decision time comes it's to the back rooms to make the deals with the $$$$men.
