No one is claiming torture does produce reliable intell.
The argument is whether certain techniques are torture or not.
The fact that you ignore this demonstrates how you fail to see the actual issue on hand. It shows you are disingenuous in your posts. But then, since when has truth mattered in your posts?
Waterboarding - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Waterboarding is a form of torture[1][2] that consists of immobilizing the victim on his or her back with the head inclined downwards, and then pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages. By forced suffocation and inhalation of water the subject experiences drowning and is caused to believe they are about to die.[3] It is considered a form of torture by legal experts,[4][5] politicians, war veterans,[6][7] intelligence officials,[8] military judges,[9] and human rights organizations.[10][11] As early as the Spanish Inquisition it was used for interrogation purposes, to punish and intimidate, and to force confessions.[12]
Just weighing in on this one..
When I watched the clip and heard Limbaugh's response, it was so lame that I wondered how he would have looked if Obama actually had taken him up on his offer to debate.
Really moronic response to Charles on that one.
Waterboarding is torture you idiot, just because Cheney said it wasnt does not make it not torture.
I'm sure torture has produced good intel at times. The problem is you cannot rely on it. It far more often produces flat out fabrications. And, of course, if you are claiming to be the "land of the free" and the pillar of righteousness in the world you look like a hypocritical scumbag when you do it. Which doesn't benefit you any. Of course, American hypocrisy is old hat now, but still.....

How anyone can defend torture is just beyond the pale.
It has been proven to provide unreliable intell as well as it being morally abhorent.
Well first, coersive interrogation is a highly effective PROCESS, wherein information is gathered and tested... and the detanee which provided that information is held accountable FOR the veracity of that information. Thus such conclusions which project such processes as "TORTURE" are a misnomer... which first seeks to expand the meaning of the word, and to do so through the common misuse of the word; wherein any physical discomfort applied through interogation is described and defined as 'torture.' It's a lie...
What's more the blanket determination that there is "NEVER" a good reason to induce pain, fear or other such discomforts to induce compliance...
Such a toxic combination of misnomers is counter productive to the common good of humanity... and through its very nature, this irrational species of reasoning provides the enemy of the humanity with protections which reduces the means of humanity to combat that enemy; thus giving them the means to destroy it.
