Wisconsin labor protests ‘like Cairo,’ GOP’s Paul Ryan exclaims | The Raw Story

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, a rising star in the Republican Party, on Thursday equated the protests against his home-state Gov. Scott Walker's (R) budget plan to the world-historic demonstrations in Egypt that last week led to the fall of President Hosni Mubarak.

"He's getting riots. It's like Cairo's moved to Madison these days," Ryan said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Odd...sounds just like Obama rhetoric...What does Egypt have to do with Wisconsin? Are there Muslim Brotherhood leading protests there too?

It looks like the GOP is intent of creating the kind of PR disaster that only serves to dramatically reinforce their reputation of favoring the rich at the expense of average American workers.

Carry on.

Except that the only people experiencing the PR disaster are the bureaucrats in general and the teachers in particular.

Please, keep it up with the overbearing attitude of entitlement.

Note the "PR"...? To Statists? Appearences are great...substance? What's that again?

Symbolism over substance for these people everytime. Consequences mean jack squat in their alternate universe.

I guess protesting the tyranny of the majority has lost its charm for the Right.

I guess The Privileged "We The Living" Class, Card Carrying, Union, Party Elite, Government Worker, has some Splainin ta do. ;) Shouldn't have taken more than you gave, as the song goes.

Oh dear! Is he hoping for government thugs to come in and beat people? For reporters to be raped?

Sorry.

When teachers, students, and parents peacefully march together en masse all the way into the state capitol building, that's a rare and defining moment in American history. It resonates with average Americans because it's a peaceful cross generational example of people power. It also just so happens to be incredibly rare in any state. If you don't believe it, when was the last time you remember anything like this happening?

But...but...but...teachers are evil! They are almost as bad as Mooooslims!!!!

Walker's budget plan would strip the collective bargaining rights of public employees and force them to pay more for benefits, in an effort to cut Wisconsin's budget deficit of $137 million.

Ryan said he supports his governor's plan, insisting it's "not asking a lot."

"He's basically saying I want you public workers to pay half of what our private sector counter parts are, and he's getting riots," Ryan said, adding that "we've got to get this deficit and debt under control in Madison."

See what happens when the government tries to force you to buy health care.

Don't have a problem with most teachers, Captain Hyperbole...

Their bloated, top-heavy unions are the issue at hand....
