Bush Was Wrong In 2007. 2012 Troop Pullout Won't Mean Aq Takes Over Iraq.

Now that the IS terrorists and their beheading and killing spree across Iraq helped Republicans win races in the mid-term elections, how do Republicans perpetuate their campaign myth that the IS terrorist molesting Sunni areas of Iraq meant that Obama lost Iraq by pulling troops out too soon?

The Iraqis have not lost Iraq so how could Obama have lost Iraq.

Republican dreams for a "lost Iraq to terrorists" for the 2016 presidential election appear to be fading to blackness.

This Iraqi army victory in Jurf al-Sakher last week is an early indicator that Daesh will likely be driven out of Iraq by Iraqis and the allies they choose to assist them. And this victory and liberation of Jurf al-Sakher and more like it that are to come will not include American troops on the ground engaged in combat operations.

BAGHDAD — When Islamic State militants retreated from the embattled town of Jurf al-Sakher last week, the Iraqi military was quick to flaunt a rare victory. State television showed tanks and Humvees parading through the town and soldiers touring government buildings that the Sunni extremist group had occupied since August.

President Bush warned that if we pulled out of Iraq too soon, it would be dangerous for Iraq, the region and the United States; it would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda.

Bush was wrong: abiding by Bush's agreed US Troop withdrawal date does not mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda or any DAIISH offshoots.

Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve

February 9, 2015
Release # 20150209.1
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ISIL Pushed from Bridgeheads North of Mosul

SOUTHWEST ASIA – Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve delivered precise and effective airstrikes on enemy positions near Mosul, in support of the Iraqi Government’s fight against ISIL. Security Forces from the Kurdish region seized three bridgeheads on the west bank of the Tigris River, north of Mosul in formerly held Daesh areas.

From Feb. 6-8, in support of the Government of Iraq’s (GOI) campaign to defeat ISIL, the Coalition executed four close air support airstrikes to facilitate the maneuver of the Kurdish Security Forces and their successful attack. In addition to airstrikes, Coalition Advise and Assist teams continue to provide operational and intelligence assistance to Kurdish Security Forces which further enables them to successfully conduct offensive operations.

How's it feel Republicans that Obama will kill and defeat more Terrorists in Iraq in two years without US troops on the ground in a combat role than Bush could do having sacrificed thousands of American lives over five years.

Bush really sucked at fighting terrorists as well as finding WMD.

Bush really sucked at fighting terrorists as well as finding WMD.

He all but destroyed the Taliban. He ended Saddam Hussein, his administration paved the way to the capture of OBL. He actually had the balls to take on threats similar ISIS. He would have most certainly not let the slaughter of Yazidi Christians go unanswered.

Look at our revisionist historian, hard at work.

Bush was wrong: abiding by Bush's agreed US Troop withdrawal date does not mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda or any DAIISH offshoots.

Right now, Iraq is in the hands of ISIS. Pretty much running roughshod. Now, having removed the troops from Iraq, it created a power vacuum. Guess who jumped right in? Do you liberals plan anything through?

Capturing Tikrit does not mean Bush was wrong. They still need to take Kirkkuk and Mosul, and the ISF offensive Tikrit has stalled.

They need help, and dropping ordinance isn't going to work. That was proven when the US Army thought they could bomb Japan into submission in WWII. They couldn't. It wound up needing boots on the ground to secure islands in range of the Japanese motherland to bomb key targets. You don't simply win with bombing sorties.

He all but destroyed the Taliban. #227

Try some reality if you can handle it. Permanent Presence in 54% of Afghanistan is much more than Daesh ever controlled in Iraq and Bush had our troops there for five years. By 2008 end they gained even more areas with Bush focused on his disaster in Iraq.

. Before its ouster by U.S.-led forces in 2001, the Taliban controlled some 90 percent of Afghanistan's territory, although it was never officially recognized by the United Nations. After its toppling, the Taliban has proven resilient. In November 2007, the Senlis Council, a London-based think tank, estimated that the Taliban maintained a "permanent presence in 54 percent of Afghanistan" (PDF), and continued to exert influence on regions outside the central government's sphere of control, predominantly in southern and eastern provinces. In rural regions where government or coalition aid has not materialized, the Taliban continues to "rally popular support" for its policies, Senlis says.

There is no case that al Qaeda or any offshoot terrorist organization will take
over Iraq. So Bush had it wrong when he warned a premature US troop pullout would mean an Iraqi surrender to al Qaeda.

Bush is still a fool. Iraq will not be surrendering to al Qaeda.

Far from it, heard this from a Kurd:

"But we have got a constitution. If we would be committed to the constitution - the way to democracy and the way to keep Iraq united is to have regions."

SIEGEL: You told me in July it wasn't just about individuals. You didn't see the mentality, the ideology, the culture of democracy in Baghdad. Do you see any more of that in Baghdad today?

HUSSEIN: No, it doesn't exist. But we have got a constitution. If we would be committed to the constitution - the way to democracy and the way to keep Iraq united is to have regions. And that means federal structure. So that means the Sunni can have their own region, the Shia their own region and Kurdistan also as a region. And Baghdad can be the capital of all.

. SIEGEL: Will the Peshmerga fight too if they have U.S. air support?

HUSSEIN: Yes.

SIEGEL: Will they fight to liberate Mosul?

HUSSEIN: We are ready to fight terrorists everywhere because those, if they will stay in Mosul, they will stay a threat for us and a threat for the rest of the world. Because then they can reorganize themselves again and attack us again. But also it will be threat for the neighboring countries.

So where is Cameron?

Do we really have a good test case for your hypothesis? Troops were not removed from Iraq so we really can't say that your hypothesis is true. Goodbye...

All American troops were pulled out of Iraq in December 2012. What are you trying to convey here? I'm saying Daesh terrorist will not take over Iraq. Do you dispute that? If you do, why?
