Did you see how young those trees were, most less than 10 years old, and they are scrub as opposed to agricultural specii. Proving that the Palestinians are recent arrivals to the area and not residents for many generations. The houses are modern cinder block construction and not the usual mud brick for the area

Keep up the good work proving that the Palestinians are not habitual residents but recent migrants.

NOPE just telling it as it is, and you don't like the truth being pointed out do you. Just as arab muslim villages from before 1948 would be constructed of mud brick, not cinder block or fired clay bricks. This is how you can date Palestinian houses and show how long they have been in existence. In the west bank most palestinian homes built of clay brick or cinder block will be of Jewish construction prior to 1948 and stolen from the Jews in 1949.

By the way you don't replace trees that are fruitful and giving a harvest with new ones that take 3 to 5 years before giving a return unless the originals are diseased or hundreds of years old. Olive trees are pruned back to promote new growth for the next harvest, just as apples and pears are. Same thing with grape vines

Well not so much in the case of Olive trees; the general consensus amongst experts is the less pruning, the better Olive Tree Pruning | The Olive Oil Source

Does not alter the fact that these trees are new proving that the arab muslims are recent arrivals. Their buildings give it away when you see the modern construction methods used. Prior to 1948 the homes were mud brick, from 1948 to 1967 they were poor mans concrete. Now they are cinder block

Mud brick if you look at the erosion above the blocked in door. Some reconstruction done with stone around the doors and windows

Well the article does say

The roofs and window shutters are long gone from the old stone houses, but decorative brickwork around the doorways and broken staircases bears witness to a bygone prosperity.

Well to me all that would show is that the trees were newly planted, theres no connection to Arab muslims being recent arrivals, how do you make that leap of logic?

Budrus, a story of hope. The people against military assault.

"Budrus, a story of hope. The people against military assault"

I couldn't view your YouTube video ....

It doesn't matter though, whatever it is - i'm sure it was about making Israel look like shit,
....and you and your terrorist heroes look like Mother Theresa....

member, P F Tinmore, et al,

After the Opening, I did not find much of the video interesting or valuable.

But in the opening, where the citizen speaks, the dialog is straightforward and rational. He says (paraphrasing) ---

• We don't have time for war.
• We want to raise our children in peace and hope.
• We are using the strategy of popular resistance and non-violence to protest against the occupation.
• They hope they can achieve peace in this manner.
(Certainly, this is a view and a perspective that all would want to encourage!)

But later, in the film, you seen a confrontation. At first it starts out portraying a humanistic and affectionate side of the citizens, serene in nature and radiating the warmth in the people. But then it transitions from the more heartwarming presentation to a depiction of belligerence --- non-contact confrontation in the onset, and then gradually deteriorating from there. Past the halfway point of the video, the protesters are clearly assaulting the Police. ---- ONCE you assault police, universally that becomes a violent confrontation. (The assault on a Police Officer is "universally" --- in any Arab League Country, in any Western Country, in any peaceful country, cause for arrest. It is only a matter of magnitude then. The fact that there were no mass arrests indicates a measure of tolerance on the part of the Israeli Police.)

EXCERPT: Article 68 --- Fourth Geneva Convention
Protected persons who commit an offence which is solely intended to harm the Occupying Power, but which does not constitute an attempt on the life or limb of members of the occupying forces or administration, nor a grave collective danger, nor seriously damage the property of the occupying forces or administration or the installations used by them, shall be liable to internment or simple imprisonment, provided the duration of such internment or imprisonment is proportionate to the offence committed.

The video gradually drifts back to this presentation of the heartwarming Arab Palestinian chanting "We can do it" as they tear down a segment of the security barrier. It was a a protest as the oute of the barrier approached and endangered an Arab Palestinian Cemetery and a significant portion of an orange grove. In the end, the route did change. As the video depicts, the cemetery was saved and 95% of the olive Grove changed.

• The Palestinians see this as the outcome of a Community-wide Peaceful demonstration.
• The Israelis see the as a civil security - political decision by Israeli Authorities.
Clearly, as the demonstration arose and evolved, Israeli Police made some allowances and clearly withdrew when practical; to avoid a more serious confrontation.

Most Respectfully,
R
