The British Army has started a campaign to try and recruit more whiny, self-entitled millennials. The article explains how they are having problems filling some of their personnel quotas.

"The Commons defence committee was told in October that the army had 77,000 fully trained troops compared with a target of 82,500.

Forty-seven per cent of applicants dropped out of the process voluntarily in 2017-18, and both the army and Capita believe the length of the process is a significant factor in this, according to the report."

I guess the only other choice the limeys can make are the radical Mooslims, but then all the rest of the recruits need to watch their backs....

But, be the best? Be, the beheaded?

I wonder if the OP knows that the US Army is also having problems meeting their recruiting goals?

Army misses 2018 recruiting goal, which hasn't happened since 2005

WASHINGTON – The Army fell short of its recruiting goal for 2018, missing its mark for the first time since 2005 as it looks to grow its force strength in the face of growing threats from competing world powers such as Russia and China.

The Army has launched a large-scale review of its recruiting practices, senior service officials said Friday. The service will pour millions of dollars into revamping recruiting facilities and bolster its recruiting force after falling about 6,500 recruits short of its goal for fiscal year 2018, which will end Sept. 30. The Army had hoped to enlist 76,500 recruits in 2018, a goal that was lowered from 80,000 in April after more soldiers than expected elected to remain in the service.

Too bad the generation before them were absolute trash parents and saddled them with unwinnable wars and unimagineable debts :dunno:

Lowering standards for enlistment is not the key.

Raising standards for all up until "Join the Army" time is.

Used to be that you had to be at 22 percent body fat for males, and 25 percent for females to be enlistment eligible for the US military.

Now? They can enlist all the way up to 30 percent body fat (which is considered obese medically).

Or maybe it is that more people now have JOBs that arent as low paying as the ARMY, which during Obama's terms not many JOBs other than the service? Or it could be that the liberals have made too many pajama boys and they just sit at home, drinking Latte's and watching Oprah.

Actually, a lot of it is that people don't want to go to war. I know that after 9/11 happened and there was talk of war (and eventually the Iraq war), the recruiters had problems convincing people to enlist. Was working at MEPS Amarillo as LPO and Head Classifier during that time.

And.......................you should also know that out of all the people who are age eligible to serve (18 to 35 yrs old), only 30 percent of them are actually enlistment eligible. Many are not eligible due to civil convictions, drug use (but they are making waivers for marijuana), test scores, no diploma, or various physical problems that need to be corrected before they can enlist, and some can make a person ineligible for life, asthma and flat feet being two of them.

My older son joined the Navy and my younger son is joining the Air Force. You know what the difference between them and lets say, the US has to go to war for what Obama did in the middle east? They will be bombing from 30,000 ft while the grunts will be moving forward to be blown up by IED's. Thanks Obama.
