I saw this film for the first time last week and even before the boy fell through the ice, my heart went out to him when he is shown not having anything to write about when his teacher wanted a family tree report out of him. If the boy this film is about was really in such a situation, I want to know if the teacher was already aware that he came from the adoption picture because if they knew, I would've demanded that the teacher be fired if they had no desire to excuse the boy from the assignment.
