Lost a couple of holly plants again this year. I can't seem to get holly through the winter. I was worried about the bald cypress I bought last spring. It had an amazing growth rate through the summer and I wasn't sure if it would make it through the winter because it needs such a unique habitat but it has buds this year. I bought a foot tall dawn redwood last fall on the internet ($20 including shipping) with bare damp roots wrapped in newspaper and I potted it immediately. It has buds this year also. I'll trim the roots on the old timers and repot them with new soil but I won't disturb the cypress or the redwood.
