Other police officers saw what happened and are now a lot more tolerant of Black Youths walking down the center of the street causing problems for local merchants. The Ferguson saga was a reminder to the men in blue that black youths are America's Official Sacred Cows and not to be trifled with.

Actually, it's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. First, Wilson had no idea that he had an altercation with a shop owner. (The Shop Owner hadn't even reported it because he didn't want to explain why his employees were buying pot from Brown.) So he harrassed the kid for jaywalking.

But one more time- when the FATAL shots were fired, Brown had been running away, turned around, had his hands up, and was 147 feet away. He was not a threat at that time.

Actually, the Brown kid's offense wasn't just "shoplifting" but a strong armed robbery where he laid hands on a little Oriental fellow. Not just a teenage sneak thief, but a thug who pushed around the clerk. That's robbery, a Class A felony and a very serious offense.

Tamir Rice was tragic and terrible. Don't give your children guns that look real, in a high-crime area. The police didn't show up randomly. A person called the police out there saying they saw a kid with a gun.

The person who called it in thought it was a toy. In any event, the officer involved didn't take more than 1.3 seconds to assess the situation and shot the kid. That's messed up.

Mike Brown was a criminal, that attacked a police officer. Same with Laquan.

Laquan McDonald didn't attack anyone... the cops lied, which is why that cop is spending the next four years in prison.

Wilson should be in prison, too. Deadly force for minor offenses is just wrong.

When you attack police, and defend criminals, then what you are in fact saying is... you don't care about black lives. Because doing that is only going to give rise to more of that. When people see that criminals are glorified and law enforcement is denigrated... what do you think you are encouraging? You are encouraging more people to attack police, which results in more of them being shot.

What denigrates law enforcement are their own attitudes...

You see, they've engaged in this kind of behavior for a pretty long time, but up until now, they've had a system that takes their word on stuff.

The big change that has happened is now with all the video cameras and camera phones, we see the abuse when it happens. To the point where no one can really deny it is happening anymore.

LaQuan McDonald shook up the entire power structure of Chicago, which is why we have two black women running the city now. The tragedy was that the system failed him long before he got into the crosshairs of the CPD.
