Mona Nelson guilty of capital murder in death of 12-year-old boy | abc13.com

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston woman accused of kidnapping and killing a 12-year-old boy nearly three years ago learned her fate Tuesday morning. A judge found Mona Nelson guilty of capital murder in the 2010 death of Jonathan Foster.

After the verdict was read, Judge Jeannine Barr sentenced Nelson to life in prison. Prosecutors had not sought the death penalty.

Nelson was accused of kidnapping Jonathan on Christmas Eve 2010. His burned body was later found wrapped in carpet, discarded in a ditch.

Nelson had told police she dumped the contents of a garbage can there, but claimed not to know that they included the boy's remains.

Hey stupid - they covered up the fact it was a torture murder.

get yer butt outta yer head

Here's the same media outlet reporting on his murder: Police say woman charged in 12-year-old boy's murder is 'cold, soulless murderer' and there may be more victims | abc13.com

"We stumbled into a wealth of evidence that showed Jonathan's body was burned at the resdience, evidence that shows perhaps the tools he was burned with," said Det. Miller.
Torches and other welding tools were found inside Nelson's northwest Houston home. Authorities beleive Jonathan was taken there, killed and burned beyond recognition the same day within hours. Twine used to tie Jonathan was also found inside Nelson's home. His body laid in the culvert through the Christmas holiday until he was discovered on Tuesday.
The horrible details were too much for several detectives who struggled to keep from crying.
"I've worked in Homicide Division 14 years and this is the worst case I've been a part of -- an innocent 12 year old who everybody says was happy, outgoing and well-liked by everyone in the neighborhood. It's an absolute tragedy," said Det. Miller.

Get your own head out of your ass. If it was a big secret, how come you know about it?

So the media covered up a brutal murder by reporting it?

When have you seen this story on national TV?. And why didn't this ABC article say the kid was tortured?

Compare this to the trayvon story where the jury agreed the victim was simply killed after he attacked another man!!!

Now we'll see what sort of punishment this monster gets. Interesting the state did not seek the death penalty. The judge gave her life but she won't do it. A couple years and then the governor will quietly give her a pardon.

In Texas?
Yeah, I doubt it.

You'll have to come back here and let us know when that happens.

Care to explain why the state didn't ask for the death penalty. They fry people a lot in texas and this is a particularly awful crime.
